Nicomo
It’s not so much the hot streak for me, but the fact that he’s doing it without Jack. Not that Nico is a slouch by any means, but Jack is obviously on a different level. And Dawson is proving he can produce with multiple different line mates. If they want a defensive prospect swap out Clarke for Casey or Muk.

I don`t like star licker, if we would listen to them, we would even not have a chance to trade for Meier. And now some people are reagy to trade Nemec or Mercer. Crazy stuff. So I don`t care really, because I don`t think that Fitz will act like that. I agree that if Devils have a chance to give Gritsyuk a taste of NA ice, it would be a great if he will repeat the path of Shaq. And he still isn`t sign, so the door is open technically. _ I will add my review of his game later. I know everyone here is busy freaking out about Meier, rightfully so, but this post here should be viewed by all fans, as this player if he wants to play in the NHL is a perfect fit for this roster in a year or so. These videos are great, thank you Guadana! Seriously if you like seeing a young prospect who plays a total game, these videos are for you. The one weakness just from the videos is he seems to not have much of a shot, and I would like if when he goes along the boards coming into the zone that he holds onto the puck using his strength to go behind the net. His defense is really impressive the way he seems to always be in the right spot in the d zone, as well as his shot blocking fearlessness. His forechecking would fit in so well on the Devils, and his passing, especially one touch passes were all on the tape. One final thought, he already plays physical but it looks like he can put on some good weight too, which again fits the future of the Devils perfectly as a guy in the bottom 6 who is going to be a real good pk player. I really hope they lock this player down as soon as he can get over here, as his weakness or what I percieve it to be is something he can improve with strength and lots of shooting pucks every day.

These are the kinds of guys the Devils will have to hit on for the next several years. Hope this kid can come on over and carve out a Bottom 6 role...could be a nice upgrade over Rango. That's kind of my point...Sharangovich is more of a bad-team Top 6 than a guy who should be stuck on a good team's Bottom 6 simply because he's not good enough to be on that good team's Top 6. I'm saying maybe Gritsyuk has a chance to nail down a spot where he's much more of a natural Bottom 6 who can truly thrive in that role, and has the right skillset for it. As complimentary player he is good enough 5-6 option for top-6. And Bardakov should not play as top-6 player in NHL becasue he has no shot for that. Gritsyuk is much more offensive forward than Sharangovich and especially Bardakov. Gritsyuk isn`t as good to push forwards away or play defensive\pk role. Don`t ask more from the players what hey can give you, don`t wait from the players what they can`t give you. Right coach should use best sides of their players, right managers should find right complimentary pieces. Like Fitz did with Meier. Patrick Sundstrom Ghost
So along with everything going on one of the main things that will change if the team can get Bratt and Timo signed is the team will have to use the young players to fill the bottom part of the lineup. We all know Luke and Nemec are going to save the Devils lots of money in the next few years, but some of the prospects at forward will have to do the same if we want to build a Cup contending team every season. I wonder if this changes the timeline for some of those forwards, as some of the bottom 6 currently on the team are not going to be here next season. The Russians, Gritsyuk and Bardakov. The Canadian jr's, Stillman and Filmon. The AHL guys, Clarke and Thompson. The college guys, Salminen, Shlaine In the next year and a half, we have to hit on 3 or 4 of these players becoming guys who can play and save this team from having to spend money on FA or spend more draft and or prospect assets in trades. Of course I did not mention Holtz, but if they can get him to be a middle 6 player, that would be huge. I hope they don't give up on him and he continues to work hard, as he showed last off season the kid worked out like crazy with Bratt, but this season just has not worked out and I can't blame all of that on him and not how he has been used. The other two players not mentioned are Bahl and Vilen who Bahl if he can prove he can be somewhat dependable will help the team not needing to find someone right away. Then there is Vilen who has done nothing but impress since they drafted him. He will be here after his season is over in Finland & he could get lots of playing time next season along with Luke and Simon, again saving the team from finding it elsewhere. I left out some guys like Foote, as I just don't see a future here for him or others like Walsh. Yeah I've been touching on this as well...now it becomes more important to find relatively inexpensive Bottom 6ers. Good news it looks like they might have some...and yeah, if they can claim jobs on ELCs, those are HUGE wins...allows Fitz to deal for occasional rentals. Another bonus re: Meier is that now if Fitz still thinks Holtz can become a part of this thing but is going to take longer to develop, the Devils can be much more patient with him. Maybe he's not ready to join the team until 2024-25. But maybe by that time, he's in a much better position to succeed. Agree, Foote and Walsh will ultimately be throw-ins for rental trades, maybe as soon as this season.

I`m not ready to call him NHL potential player, only because I just didn`t saw him enough. Anyway both are good prospects, Orlov is very good prospect for now. I understand that both will take more time. And Casey will take more time, but it`s very good to have them all in our prospect pool. And Stillman isn`t in one year away from NHL. If he wanna be NHL player, he should work hard and should take some time. Same with Schleine and Salminen. 2 hours ago, Colorado Rockies 1976 said: Yeah I've been touching on this as well...now it becomes more important to find relatively inexpensive Bottom 6ers. With Timo, Dawson and Jesper they have enough pieces to use strong top-6.He should work more on his game without the puck, but time and coaches will help. Patrick Sundstrom Ghost
5 minutes ago, Nicomo said: Any way you look at it, the team has mismanaged Holtz this season, and it started when they went crazy early on, and did not send him down to play every day. They then never once game him a chance to play any meaningful mintues when he did finally get back in the lineup. I really hope they understand this is on them and fully digest this has been a complete waste of a season and learn both for Holtz and any other future player to not do this again. I love that Cssey has blown up as a player, it's great for the kid and for the Devils, I just have a hard time seeing him on the roster while Dougie, Luke and Simon are here. I guess if you tell me in 3 or 4 years the Devils have won a cup or so, that Casey can be the 6th D, who plays the PP, but even that you have 23 and 22 year olds who are ahead of him and Dougie as well. I say let the kid go wild next year with no Luke there, and then you sell as high of a price as you can get.
