I assume Pando is busy coaching. Wonder what Friesen and Madden are up to these days though?

I'm grasping at straws here a bit, but I believe I saw an interview where Friesen actually went through a battle with addiction.. pain meds I think, did rehab and the whole thing. Think he's better now though which is good.

AFAIC if Schmid gets a start in the near future and plays well…give him a real shot to be the backup.  We pretty much know what we get with Mac:  injures and inconsistency.

I love having him on the team. The guy looks overjoyed every time he scores (I wish Bratt and Nico would celebrate their goals). It's great having a D man that can put up a decent amount of points.

Ask, and you shall receive. ;)

Dawson now with 10 G and 10 A over his last 23 GP…this despite suffering through both a seven-game and five-game point drought within this run, and several games where he didn’t even generate a shot on goal (only 38 SOG over the 23 games).  As one would expect, his shooting% over this run is rather bloated (26.9%).

BUT, out of nowhere, he’s starting to put up a lot of shots on goal…a whopping 20 of them in the last five games.  Obviously some numbers will start to normalize, but if he can just keep firing and getting opportunities, he could very well continue to be an offensive force.  Would be huge for the Devils to find more scoring from within.

What I noticed most about this run of Mercer's, is that he has no problem lifting the puck when in close. Love his genuine happiness too after scoring.

He has a shot at 25 goals and 55 points...not to mention a second straight season of 82 GP.  As we know, the 82 GP is a number that some Devils have had trouble reaching in recent seasons.

Pretty sweet.  Since the mask is a tribute to Brodeur, I wish they would do the opposite colors on opposite leg pads like the Heatons Brodeur wore in the late 90s and early 2000s

That was a nice set up. Marty had a few really nice ones before he went to plain white towards the end of his career

Funny, that equipment must look so nice when it's all completely pristine, no puck marks, scratches, etc.  But of course they were never intended to remain that way.

Marty had a good section in his book describing how he would break in new pads over a series of practices, before debuting them in a game, along with his other pre-game and during-game rituals.

I never heard that but I think the actual reason he won't be there is because the Sharks are retiring Patrick Marleau's number tomorrow, since he played with him for six years unfortunately we lose that conflict.

Yeah I’d prefer they wear the classic jerseys from their era. The ones we should still be wearing. Wonder if we are wearing the whites tonight, 2003 style…..

I miss the old paint jobs, like when guys had their signature style. Cujo had that, Eddie Belfour had the eagles, Marty had the half logo, etc.

Absolutely, the only ones that really stand out to me now as memorable are Oettinger on Dallas cause he has Otters on his and Jarry on Pittsburgh cause he always has something Tom & Jerry on his lol
