Not really iconic in the way you guys are referring, but I love these tribute masks.

I remember that Cheevers tribute. I want to say it was Jeff Hackett?

Edit… I checked, it was Steve Shields. Close enough

So as we know, VV has enjoyed two killer Vezina-worthy runs this season where in each stretch he played in 15 games, went 12-1-1, and put up a .932 save% in the first run and a .927 save% in the second.

His first two games after the first stretch ended:

13 saves on 17 shots

19 saves on 23 shots

And the two games following the second stretch:

13 saves on 17 shots

19 saves on 22 shots

Weird…

I’m guessing no Timo just yet, good a time as any to get a look at Clarke. 20 goals and 24 assists for 44 points in 51 games to lead Utica

Agree fully, figured he’d get a look at some point this year.

Pretty mature decision for the kid. Also makes me wonder what their plan was if he had to ask to go to Utica

I think they were taken aback by his lack of progress at first. Then not wanting to tinker much with the lineup was also another issue. Sprinkle in some “will he really benefit from it?” In there and you’ve got a recipe for a wasted season of development.

Plan A was “OK, let’s award the kid a spot out of preseason and see how it goes.”

Plan B was “OK, kid really isn’t ready yet to play regularly, let’s work with him as much as possible in practice and see if we can at least get him to the point where he looks a little more comfortable out there.”

There clearly was no Plan C.

I'm excited to see Clarke. He's going to get an opportunity with Zetts gone I would imagine. Time to make the most of it Clarkey.

Also very much agree on Holtz and honestly a very mature move of him. He's said as much to the media that he wants to be playing in games. At least he can go and get a good 22-25 games in and feel good about it and go into the summer knowing what they want out of him.

It's weird that Boquist is still here, but Z and Holtz are now off the roster. I guess this kind of means that Boquist won the position battle for that spot?

I honestly respect the hell out of this.  Takes a lot of balls for the kid to call a meeting with both GMs to express his opinions.

Also FWIW, he's taking a pay cut to go pay in Utica isn't he?  If so, even more respect.

Really hope this kid keeps developing and is part of the team moving forward.

Agreed.  Seems like a lot of people in his position would have just called their agent and told them to demand a trade.   I'll be rooting for him.

Realistically, i would like to see him take Sharangovich's spot next year on the third line and be able to move up to top 6 as needed when injuries occur.    (For clarification, I'm assuming we won't be able to afford Shar next year)

I really hope he gets a full year down there, with 2024-25 being the “OK kid you’re ready, go get ‘em!” season for him.

Of course if he forces the issue in-season, great.  Just not going to ask that of him.

Yeah for whatever it’s worth, the kid has handled this really well. No open complaining, no boo boo face in the media. Just asked for a chance to play in the minors if he can’t play here. What he lacks in skating he definitely has in character. I hope he makes it next year.

And he worked really hard on that skating this past offseason, and I’m sure he’ll continue to do so. So aside from good character, the work ethic is clearly there, too. I’m not giving up on him yet.

Let's not forget that he also removed all things Devils from his social media page 🙄

I was just curious to know so I just checked but Holtz has more followers on instagram than Bratt does, and also more than the Utica Comets themselves lol.

I wonder if that is because he was dating a Swedish singer/model or whatever at one point.

If I already have FiOS and msg will this be an issue?

I don't know, it's pay walled.  You have to pay to read the article about whether or not you're going to have to pay to watch.

Probably not for now. What this does in my mind is gives MSG negotiating power going forward. For example if they get into a fight with Fios, MSG will try to get people to subscribe to this. They are giving people an expensive alternative.
