One person you need to add to this list is Sharangovich.   He pulled a disappearing act this year that would have made ‘21-‘22 Pavel Zacha blush.

I’m sure he can get a nice deal from some bottom feeder and score 20 goals a year, but the Devils have moved passed having guys like him on the roster, especially if he’s going to be looking for a raise.

Sharangovich is a bad team player.  But yeah, he can score 20-25 getting Top 6 minutes for a meh team.

Sharo is RFA, that's why i did not mention him or Bratt, but yes as a big fan of him, this season has been quite disappointing.

The one guy I forgot is Haula, who I don't know what they do, I don't think he is in the Tatar range of bring him back unless he wants to leave or asks for too much, but he is pretty useful.

Don't play him with Jack, let him play 3rd or even 4th line, but yeah Haula has been minus the early season voodoo level bad luck/bad hands good to very good at every other aspect of hockey for the Devils.

I don't think he is a bad team player, you would not have said that about him before this season I don't think.

He has had a really disappointing year though, I don't know why, maybe his wife having a kid has affected him, who knows, but he is a better player than he has shown.

I think the odds are high unless the playoffs change things that they will look to move him in a trade, but if he is back, I would bet he gets back to the player he was last year, which was a very useful middle 6 winger.

The Devils ended the season with 4 players with 70+ points. That does not include Timo, who easily could get there once he's used to the system.

Two seasons ago, the Devils' points leader was Pavel Zacha. What a turnaround it has been.

What I DID wonder about going into this season re:  Sharangovich was:

1) Could he get off to a better start this season?  (He couldn’t)

2) Could he produce at a time other than  what amounted to lost-season garbage time, which is what he did in both of his first two NHL seasons?  (Nope)

We knew that as the team turned the corner, some players were going to be exposed as not good enough to stick in their current roles.  Sharangovich is simply not a Top 6 forward on a good team…that being said, maybe he’s willing to reinvent himself as a bottom-line guy who is not counted on for consistent offense, but can play on the PK and even pop in an occasional shorty.  Maybe he can add a little sandpaper to his game.  Not sure if the Devils will be the team to find out if he can do that though.

They put game 1 against the Knicks game and our game 2 against the Nets game 2. Guess that was the best they could do. Hopefully there’s not much overlap between fans of nba and nhl and ratings don’t suffer.

This is horsesh!t, the Brooklyn Nets are not my team, the NBA died to me the day the New Jersey Nets announced they were building that arena in Brooklyn and gonna move there.

This is why I'm always so annoyed when we use this franchise sh!t like the Dougie Hamilton record as a tie, it's not a franchise tie, it's a New Jersey Devils record, fvck off with that Colorado and KC sh!t.

And yes I know I technically could have always gone and seen the Nets in Brooklyn but I don't give two sh!ts about Brooklyn. fvck them and fvck the Nets.

I firmly believe the Nets would have flourished in Newark but they were never given the proper chance to because when they actually played there the team was already dead on arrival since they had announced they were moving already and even took New Jersey off the jerseys.

The whole situation was an embarrassment because the Nets should have never been allowed to move and we never needed another stadium in this area.

They were dead to me the same day.

They were never great but I do miss the Coleman/Petrovic teams.    I wanted one of those tie-dye Coleman jerseys so bad when I was a kid but they were never really available for sale back then.

I loved the whole Jason Kidd era, such a shame they couldn't pull off a championship win in 02 or 03.

A partially owned team or a team run by Shaq in Newark would have been huge, I just hate how the league abandoned the team so easily when a brand new arena was already right there in Newark. Even more so when you see how the NHL has bent over backward so many times to keep the Coyotes in Arizona.

I'm more of the mind that I don't want to see the Devils lumped in with the New York teams (they play their home games HERE in NEW JERSEY), but of course you've got the New York Giants and New York Jets not exactly playing THEIR home games in New York (and they haven't for DECADES), so not sure why they're not called the NJ Giants and NJ Jets.  But it's funny, New York has no issue making fun of NJ and even its hockey team, but as soon as the Devils make the playoffs again, just like that it's "All of OUR teams are in the playoffs!"  Screw New York.

Re:  the franchise thing, I've always of the belief that all should count due to the fact that the Devils weren't some first-year expansion team that started play in 1982...you had Scouts who played as Rockies, and Rockies who then played as Devils.  There's a continuity there, even if it was across three locations, and even if the first two amounted to eight years of...not much to write home about.  But without THOSE teams, there's no Devils.  But I fully understand that opinions vary on this one.

What I don't get at all is one team claiming some other team's history as their own, as the "new" Senators did with the "old" Sens, even hanging up Cup banners won by a team that had long been defunct and had absolutely NO connection with the expansion Sens.  That's just cheesy.

haula said during one of his introductory interviews that he doesn't like moving a lot and that he hopes to stick around with the devils long term.

at this moment.. I wouldn't mind giving him a 2-4 yr contract at a fair price.

Agreed. Pay the man. He's come in and played exactly in the role we need him at and he can play in the top 6 when injuries happen and does have the chemistry with Jack in spite of being snakebitten horribly. Plays well, wins faceoffs. Isn't a liability and good possession numbers. I envision him playing alongside Palat on the 3rd line with a young player for years. id take him for 2-4 years, preferrably 2, but maybe he'll take 2 years at under Palat-rate if we give him a modified NTC or NTC or something. I mean if moving around sucks so bad, stay here guaranteed for 2-3 years and we can at least reward his play in that way.

My first NBA game was Nets-Celtics in 1984. The Nets were decent back then, but Larry Bird and company destroyed them. Those Nets were led by Otis Birdsong and Buck Williams. And Darryl Dawkins, who the fans loved.

Mine was Nets-Sacramento in 1985. The Nets had pretty much that same cast of characters. I was 6 years old at the time. That same year, I saw my first Devils game (Devils-Rags at the Byrne Arena), my first baseball game (Mets-Cubs at Shea), and my first NFL game (Giants-Tampa Bay at Giants Stadium). That was the year I fell in love with sports.

We are absolutely going to need his grit going into this round. Rangers are a bigger team and will be throwing around their weight trying to slow us down.

What a season.

I know a lot of us, myself included still have some issues with Lindy, Blackwood being my number one problem but Lindy has a tremendous sense of humor and has taken everything in great stride this season. For that alone I think he deserves the Jack Adam's award.

There's literally never been a coach who had a Fire chant and then a I'm sorry chant that I've ever seen anywhere in sports.

He's done an amazing job, 52 wins is insane with how this season started off and looked like it was going to go completely off the rails.

After Thursday’s showing that should be enough to keep Blackwood off the goddamn post season roster. You wana blame the team and say they hung him out fine, but then guess what, for whatever reason the team isn’t playing well in front of him and that’s also a good enough reason to keep him away. We’ve waited 11 years for this, DONT fvck IT UP!
