Your New Jersey Devils Regular Season Thread: 2022-2023 Edition

Just to drive home how this group is reshaping our franchise….

Hischier is 21st on our all time points list, Bratt is 24th, Severson 26th and Jack 39th. 2 of those are locked in long term and 1 could be theoretically. Just wild how we are seeing history in the making and our window is just now opening

I hadn’t realized Haula was quite this good down the stretch.

Palat not even being on the list is pretty concerning. I defended him a lot this season because of the injury/surgery, but man - he better have a nice playoffs or the fans are really going to turn on him.

Fridge on 32 Thoughts today bringing up Bruno going somewhere else to HC after the Devils are done. Washington/CBJ I am guessing.

Oh fvck that. He should be the next coach HERE.

Coaches that finish 3rd in the league tend not to get replaced. I think Lindy might be pretty safe atm.

I've been yelling score a fvcking goal Palat in the game day threads for awhile now, not turning on the guy or anything but everyone keeps yapping that he'll be a different player come playoff time and I hope everyone is right but I really wanted to see him getting it going a bit before the playoffs started.

We'll find out soon enough if he has some magical playoff button. I sure hope he does, I want him to do well.

Honestly, I don't blame you for being concerned...Palat averaged 55 points per 82 GP prior to this season.  The way this regular season turned out for him was definitely not what was expected, but fortunately that didn't affect the Devils much at all in the grand scheme...they were still two points away from owning the NHL's second-best record.

But yeah, would be nice if he could put up playoff numbers similar to his last three postseasons...he's scored at a 31 G per 82 GP rate (guy's played in 71 postseason games over those three years!).  I suspect the Devils are going to need some guys who were quiet this season to be able to step up and surprise...Palat, Sharangovich, and Wood, to name three.  Would be great to see Haula continue to find the net too.

Apparently he agrees...

Yep I’m pretty certain he’s had more than 2 Mexican lagers and one bud light.

At least he left his current employer out of it and only mentioned the Panthers 😉

(I know this occurred in Florida)

He might have warmed up with that.

Anyway, two pet peeves of mine:

1) Does it ever work out for you when you resist the cops or decide not to do what they're asking or expecting of you?  Just do what they say.

2) I hate when people play the "Don't you know who I am?  How could you not because I'm soooooooo important!" card.  No offense Andrew, but not everyone gives a flying fvck about hockey.  Especially when the Florida Panthers of all teams are involved!

Yeah cop said "No...no disrespect, but no."  You know Andrew thought that just miiiiiiiiiight help to get him out of a bind.  Once that didn't work he had to be thinking "Aw fvck..."

It's amazing how quickly these situations can take a turn.  Here he is, thinking he'll speed home on his lil' golf cart and pass out and sleep it off...next thing he knows, he's getting cuffed and getting F-bombed by the cops.  Been fortunate never to have gotten into a situation like that, but I know people who've gotten DUIs, cuffed, arrested, car impounded, license suspended, the whole bit.  In the moment it probably feels like your world is ending.
