Satans Hockey
The post game radio broadcast hasn't been working for me for the past few home games but it worked tonight and whoever was on the call with Chico was absolutely horrible. Have no idea how he got the gig even if it's temporary.

Of course, he probably would have that if he wanted it.
devlman
Are we allowed to be upset now? Or is someone going to post our record from November as if we cant expect better from tonight?

I think, if I recall the discussion from last game, it’s fine to be upset with our sh!tty performance, but it’s not yet time to melt down and start acting like the season is lost. That’s how I see it, anyway.
NJDevs4978
I mean the season's not lost yet but it'd be nice not to blow through our ENTIRE cushion by the end of the fvcking month, which they could very well do with this schedule. Chico was saying it's good the guys are going on the road for the next 2 so that they feel a little less pressure from the home crowd and just go out and play. Hope he's right.

I mean, most people think you have an advantage in playing in your own building. Now there is a disadvantage? Not saying I believe in either concept, but still. Chico was talking more about how you could hear the murmur from the crowd and can feel the negative energy, which I could feel too. It was like being in a building with everyone expecting them to lose once that first goal went in. He was also saying how the team was talking about how the players have commented about how the fan support has been this year and on the road they won't be trying to impress the fans and just play a simpler game. I know a lot of it just Chico trying to spin a positive light on things but I hope he's right and we go 2 for 2 on this road trip.
Nicomo
They’re 11-1-1 on the road so far this season, so I’m hopeful he’s on to something.

It was definitely more muted than you'd expect from a mostly full Saturday crowd though. Edited December 18, 2022 by NJDevs4978

Look at how the Panthers responded to Nico knocking Barkov out of the game. It was several players looking to get a piece of Nico. I basically said that we ALL (myself included) discarded the possibility that our good streak may have had something to do with statistically having the easiest schedule in the entire league at that point. We all said and agreed we fully deserved every win and bla bla bla. Now i say that maybe just maybe there was something to it after all. Which is a pretty damn soft take compared to sh!t said about the team in the least few days. So what's your problem with what i said? We all didn’t say that. In fact, it was a major talking point here and in the media that our schedule wasn’t the hardest.

First, to my knowledge, in the conversation im referring to (which was following me posting that chart), nobody disagreed with my view about that subject. As i said in my previous post, we all agreed that we all fully deserved those wins. So i have no idea what you're going on about with your "somewhat against your view and then go on to ignore context and claim it’s everyone vehemently disagreeing". It didn't happen. Secondly, i see that you're upset cause when i say "All", you took it as if it means "every single members on the board" and not... "all the members who engaged in that specific conversation". "As usual", you got it all wrong.

I swear - between Zubrus, Boyle, and Bahl, we always seem to have some of the gentlest giants. I was having a conversation with a friend about a week ago about the Devils and the Bruins. He made it a point to say both teams are soft and that is why even if they make the playoffs, neither team has a chance for the cup. He is a life long Bruins fan and said it won’t belong before the Bruins get punched in the mouth and crumble under the pressure.
Colorado Rockies 1976
Didn’t get to see this one. Obviously the start that the Devils got off to has given them some leeway, but unfortunately they just used up a good bit of it…as far as maintaining a division lead goes, anyway. Hopefully they can start piecing together some wins again, soon.

For a group with so much size, they are tissue paper soft. Last night was the first time I’ve really been concerned about the team. Getting beat on the scoreboard while just letting them rag doll Hischier for 2 periods was disturbing. As worthless as Boqvist and Holtz are, maybe we can get a little muscle in the lineup without sacrificing much performance for the game in Sunrise Edited December 18, 2022 by Lateralous

But they’re clearly not showing any of that resilience from earlier. They’re not battling back like they had been, playing slow disinterested hockey. it’s so damn frustrating
