Man, when I was young I would have gone ballistic. My wife and our friends still talk about the famous NJPAC “Beauty and the Beast incident” from when our kids were young lol…it wasn’t until like age 40 or so that I got my temper in check.

I’m 37. I yelled at him, my kids are a small 4 as it is, then you try and split the family, going against traffic.

my sister kept saying “think of your promotion think of your promotion, it’s not worth losing that” she was right but if you get my wife to call you an a$$hole, you REALLY messed up

Yeah it felt like they lost this game twice...the first time was the typical frustrating 'dominate but don't score, the make a stupid-ass mistake to get scored on' game we've seen any number of times.  The second time they somehow managed to screw up after the momentum of the tying goal and getting a ridiculous save from Vanecek should have been enough to get them over the finish line.

The place was BEGGING for a goal after the unreal VV save

And if Bratt ever did play for another team…he’s the kind of guy who will have his new team’s fans saying “Man this guy can put up 100 points, look at him!”  And they’ll then wonder why he tops out at 75-80.  Or how he can look SO good for extended stretches and be barely noticeable for others.

i pick on nico more than I should and I agree that he’s a very good young player. it’s just, I wish they didn’t rush to slap the C on his chest. Jack Hughes plays with more heart and more fire and takes a beating way more without looking like a kicked kitten. it just felt forced.

Jack 100% outwardly is more emotional on the bench. When he botched the play off the left wing in the 3rd (I think it was), he came back SCREAMING and ranting to himself on the bench.

Nico wasn’t very vocal on the bench from my seats. But his mouth was a bit mangled in the first. Not awfully bloody but I got as good of a look at his lower teeth as the trainer did.

Oh I definitely would have yelled. Pre-40 I would have buried an “accidental” shoulder into his chest. Pre-25, I probably would have put him in a chokehold lol.

I responded to your post, I didn’t read ahead to see if other people already responded. Guilty as charged.

People in my section were almost all game. Crowd had a ton of nervous energy, they were waiting for the shoe to drop.

also to the grey goateed, bald headed fvck who tried to run me and my wife over cause we had one of our kids between us while leaving, and tell me “who fvcking cares,” I hope you get a paper cut on your Dick hole that never heals

Seriously what the fvck?!  Some people’s general suckage knows no bounds.

You also didn't have to worry about being filmed from multiple angles cause of everyone having cell phones now so you're definitely gonna go viral and possibly get fired from work and legal troubles because of those videos

Absolutely correct. If it’s not that, you just get stabbed to death.

I watched a lot of years of guys like Bryce fvcking Salvador and Andy Greene captain my favorite hockey team. Having a very good young player like Nico Hischier to lead the also very young core of this team is more than fine with me.

Fun fact the only guys on this team that have scored more playoff goals than Bryce are Hamilton, Haula and Palat lol

the first actual fist fight I’ve ever gotten in was at the prudential center. drunk rangers a$$hole made fun of my female friend’s weight (she weighed like 175 tops, not a VS model by any means but you wouldn’t look at her and think “whoa”). i told him he was a loser, he threw 3 very fast and very bizarre slap/swing things at me, I hit him with what should’ve been a perfect blow to the cheek but was much closer to a weirdly violent uncoordinated backhand to the collarbone, we got separated and he got escorted out.

my second fight went much better but that’s a story for a different day.

my third fight went even better and i wound up sleeping with the guy. convinced him to make an account on NJDevs. think he’s on here as “DesignsSterioEquipment” or something similar. Decent dude.

Crappy shag though.

Oh I definitely was guilty of that...with good reason obviously lol.  Although tbh I thought it would be Vanecek having a poor game just to piss us all off after the Blackwood backlash from the other night, and really get us thinking we're fvcked at the goalie spot.  Of course tonight made us look like we're fvcked everywhere else.

When you lose game after game at home (and lately in general), it's hard not to have a 'same old sh!t' feeling.

But yeah if anyone saw two people in military appreciation jerseys (one a capitals one) a woman in a Vegas pullover, a girl in a Zajac and two red headed demons in blank devils jerseys, that was our clan tonight. Boys had a blast aside from the result.

Really glad that your kids had fun.  I always have such a good time with my kid, as frustrating as this team has often been during her fandom.  We haven’t had to deal with too many jerkoffs directly, but they most definitely exist.

And this is why I avoid physical conflict as much as possible (unless I have absolutely no choice).  You just never know what the other person is capable of, and I’d rather not find out the hard (and potentially fatal) way.

Huge regret was not bringing my daughter to a game until she was 6 years old, should’ve started sooner. The bathroom thing was definitely part of it, didn’t wan5 to deal with it when she was super young, even after she was self sufficient.

But she loved it, continues to love it, and if you can find dad-child moments like that, always cherish them. My dad never spent that kind of time with me and my sister, and we’re still not very close as a result.

Exactly, back in the 90’s you could just throw some hands and be done. Nowadays, it might be the last thing you do.

Being old and out of shape also makes it a bad idea for me, of course, but still…

the psychopath found me on every form of social media and was messaging me threats about my 10 month old son lol.

I get it that you probably don’t understand what it’s like to have a young family, ya know with the whole dorito/virgin thing. But that’s a pretty reasonable reason to call the cops, don’t ya think?

Except that person told me what he said and it wasn't a threat at all. Obviously he could be lying, i considered that.

But then, I also know that i once joked during one of your typical meltdown that i hoped your son was safe in his room as you were raging like a madman after a loss and you absolutely lost your mind saying that i was threatening your family lol When what it was clear that i was joking that you were mentally unstable and dangerous to people around you. Sure, bad insensitive joke but FAR from a threat. Actually the opposite.

So yeah, i've seen you make sh!t up on this board for years, because of that i don't believe you that legit threats were actually made. And well if it really happened well it's a cry wolf situation, not my fault.

Yeah sadly I learned from own father what kind of dad I DIDN’T want to be.  We’re barely speaking these days because I finally reached the point where I had enough, 52 years into my life.  But yeah I really make it a point to spend time with her and to make the most of that time.  And I know you know exactly what I’m talking about.

Looking at the standings is such a bummer, they have basically no buffer. Islanders are 6 points back. If they have a repeat of December in January they likely don't make the playoffs.

Wild how much they have squandered that winning streak and basically balanced out with this one month.
