Yeah Fitz pretty much said he’ll have to create more space to do anything.  Still think that means Wood will be the one to go, but he may have to attach a mid-round pick to make that happen.

With Wood being a negative asset and 3.2MM I assumed it would take at least a first to unload him, let alone get something in return. Who knows tho. Teams are wheelin' and dealin' all over today.

I’m more saying Wood + mid-round pick would be for future considerations.  Anyone Fitz would bring in would be in a separate deal.

I hear you. One trade or several, my point is it will take more than a 3rd. I am looking at what OTT had to give up to get rid of Zaitsev.

My prediction a week or two ago was that Meier would be traded today cause I wasn’t gonna have my phone for most of the afternoon. Turns out everyone panicked today once we got our man over the weekend 😉

So the Tampa strategy: give up way too much for support pieces now once window is open. Then in a couple years you are guaranteed to be bad, but you also get a better chance at getting top draft picks later to repeat the cycle. As long as fans can handle a five year sh!t time then I kind of see the logic.

They should be careful because that 5 years can turn into 10 real fast

Goes from his second tour of duty with the Caps to his second tour of duty with the Wild…weird.

I'd forgotten he went to Wild before. Deja Vu time for him then.

Yeah Fitz simply may not be able to make more cap room happen.

After spending a bunch of seasons with the Caps to start his career, he done a ton of bouncing around.  Over 800 GP for his career though.

Chicago retained 50% of Kane’s salary and Arizona retained 25% so the rags are paying the remaining 25%. This is within the “spirit of the CBA”

What did Arizona get out of doing that?

I feel for him but at the same time, dude…you are KILLING your team at this point.  An .845 save% over your last 15 games?!  What exactly are the Kings supposed to do here?  They can’t kill their season and not address a major shortcoming.

And the fact is that he’s been largely meh for years now…since the start of the 2018-19 season, he’s put up a .896 save% and a GSAA of -60.6.  This is Mackenzie Blackwood-type stuff.
