Lazar

12 min per game

PK 1 min

124 hit(second forward in van)

49 blocking shots (2nd F)

both would be best result for forward in Devils

14 pim

So we got normal role player.

Dude was actually a 1st round pick… :o

Also, I don’t understand people being down on Bastian at all. He’s a perfect 4th liner.

I am not down on him really, but if you can improve the team, you do it, I think Lazar might help them more.

Of course I could be wrong and he is going to play for Wood, just guessing with him being a right handed shot and all.

I also think this is protection for Haula or McLeod missing any time.

Bastina is better player than Lazar.

But Lazar easy better defensive player than Wood. We can have a lot of problems with Wood game against Tampa\Boston\Toronto.

I would really like a depth D upgrade on Smith.

I think he’s already here, in Fitz’s eyes

If this is it for NJ, then he Lazar is going to replace Wood next year and hopefully this season, but still hoping for another move at forward and 1 at d as well.

I saw Bruce B on TSN talking about he thinks Lazar's best spot is right wing, that's why I mentioned Bastain, but i have no issuse with Nate, I have always liked him a lot more than Wood and McLeod, so yeah.

Next season though they now have a very cheap dependable 4th liner no matter what happens the rest of the way this year.

Ha, there was just a Niklas Bergfors reference on NHLN trade deadline coverage.  I haven’t heard that name in years.   They were discussing the Kovy trade to NJ

Extra bottom six depth for playoff run. Who knows what can happen. Basically he replaces Zetterlund, can take faceoffs on the depth chart and we know he's an NHLer who can hold his own.

We didn't really spend anything to get him and he's insurance in case McLeod or Wood don't want to be here or bolt at the end of the year.

I think Wood and McLeod could get deals done to stay. Especially with Wood's production this year. Not sure really what Fitz does there. Either way Lazar is a good guy to pencil in on the 4th line if one of those guys decides to bolt, injuries, etc. Has limited playoff experience with Boston.

Also possible that this is a deal that is a prelude to another move. Such as moving out McLeod + Wood as a package for something maybe. Maybe McLeod + Wood + low draft picks for (depth defensemen + 4th liner + low draft picks)

So was Michael McLeod, lol.

It doesn't necessarily mean someone is on the way out either, but it means we'll be okay if Fitz does.

McLeod has actually turned into a pretty useful player. Obviously not quite what you want out of a 11th OA pick, but it’s a hell of a lot better than a true bust (out of the league or never made it).

I’m sold.

The Bratt Pack guy can be funny as a Twitter jokester but he's pretty typical twitter/facebook level fan on a lot of opinions. Some folks even asked him to be on their podcasts and I just don't get why lol.

One of the few bad things this team has consistenly done this season is taking way too many bad penalties, the two guys most responsible for that are Wood and Smith.

I know Lazar will not score, but if he does replace Wood at least some of all the games, that is one part of the team that will be cleaned up.

For this team every minute they have to kill a penalty is 2 minutes less than they can take advantage of their team speed and talent, Lazar does not take penalties, I would guess when he does, they are to try and save a goal being scored.

This is not something Wood has ever done, almost all his minutes in the box are either defending his teammates, a very good thing, or boneheaded dumb plays he makes.

If they can get a smarter D than Smith here, I hope they pull it off as well.

Oh no don't get me wrong, I actually am a fan of what McLeod brings. I think he actually has decent skills and offensive instincts and he shows off every once and a while (ala that no-look pass to Wood from below the goal line against WPG. Just there are plenty of players who have better instincts and skills in that area.

Would be nice to get McLeod re-signed to an under 2M/year deal. Haula contract is up too so maybe you get one of them to take a Nick Paul like deal.

He seems like a dude who got a smidge if internet fame way to fast and isn’t sure what to do with it. He tries a little to hard to be edgy or funny. I don’t think he’s a bad guy but his Bratt gimmick took off for him faster and more than expected

I had to unfollow him. He became really obnoxious after a while.

They made podcast with a couple of whinny losers and talking about how bad Fitz as gm is just because he didn`t signed Johnney Gaudreanee. He just should sign no matter what by their words.

Never chat with the guy, but have a chat with different influencers and even with some NJD players and prospects.

Can we maybe not praise the possible sex predator too much here?

Hey maybe he's innocent, but the fact he and the other kids who won't talk are the only ones to do so, does not give me a confident feeling on his innocence in a 100 percent way.

Great that he has been a better player on the ice for the team, but even still, unless evidence comes out that clears him I prefer this is his last year on the team.

Maybe that's just me, but that's how I feel.
