We all know the Flyers are "listening". I would love to see if Konecny could be had. He's physical! Not sure what it would take. Likely out of the question.

Can't see them trading him within the division...though considering that the Flyers seemed to be committed to a proper (read:  no quick-fixes) rebuild, and that teams within the same division don't face each other as often...guess they might be open to it if the price is right.  Not sure who I'd want to see the Devils give up for him though.  If I'm the Flyers I ask for Dawson + something else (say, Casey)...and if I'm Fitz, I say no.

Other problem is he's due to go UFA after 2025...after two seasons, that's another guy to pony up for.  I think I'd rather pay Dawson...he should get a nice bump after next season (his final ELC year), but the older Konecny (who'll be entering his Age 29 season once his current contract is up) could really clean up with a good year this year and next.  Dawson can hopefully be locked up for a while to less AAV, with more prime years in front of him.

Assuming there was any way to prime Konecny out of Philly...maybe if something goes south with either Bratt or Timo?  Still feels like a major longshot.

I’d much rather have Timo over Konecny; and I like Konecny.

Same, but their career numbers are actually VERY similar:

PLD?! One malcontent for another? fvck no.

Is PLD a malcontent?  I don't really know much about him.  He's a RFA too, right around the same age as Bratt.

I'm actually giving Bratt the benefit of the doubt until I hear Fitz make a statement as to the status of how the negotiations are going.  I get the feeling when HE'S had enough, he'll let us know.

Big time. And he also was invisible in the playoffs. His coaches wanted to strangle him. Keep that jerk-off as far away from here as possible.

He’s requested to be traded from 2 different teams…

Plus we don’t need another center if we move Bratt. We need a winger.

He's tied WPGs hands on return with this MTL sh!t. I hope he goes there, caves under the pressure, and is the biggest underperformer since Gomer.

I wasn’t looking for the Devils to acquire him.  Was just admitting that I didn’t know much about him.

But since his name came up I started looking and yeah, sounds like he’s a PITA and also wants Montreal.

I wasn't suggesting we not sign Timo or Bratt.  I'm all on board for signing both if Fitz can make it happen. I wish Nico had somebody (on his line)  that had a lil grit that would stick up when needed.  (like tom Wilson). You know Washington could get the motherland in a trade.

Great news for that franchise.  Hopefully the new Owners can get the LeBrenton Flats downtown arena done because the building and location in Kanata, are awful.   I've been to a number of NHL arenas and Kanata and the Coyotes old building in Glendale were the only ones where there was pretty much no redeeming value.  Just cookie cutter buildings in the middle of bumblefvck.   It was basically off an exit with a car dealership and a gas station when they built it and is pretty much the same to this day.   Ottawa is a great city, there's no reason they shouldn't have their one major NA sports team playing downtown.

As bad of an Owner as their Dad was, it's kind of cool to see that the Melenik daughters still want to maintain 10% ownership.   I guess they grew up with the team and want to keep a stake in it.

I really can't see him getting more out of their roster than Gallant did. So, obviously I think it's a great hire for them.

It was a "safe" hire...the hire of a GM trying not to get fired too soon and completely unwilling to take a chance on a new-to-the-NHL kind of voice.  Yeah I think the Rangers will continue to make the playoffs under Laviolette, but I think they were doing that anyway that because of the talent that's already present...especially in net.

The guess here is that within three years, both Laviolette and Drury are yeeted right the fvck outta NY.  Funny thing is that as long as Laviolette wants to coach, someone else will hire him, even if he loses this job.  His teams do win (lifetime .587 point% as a head coach) and he's had a few deep runs (including a Cup championship in that goofy 2005-06 season).  But I just don't know if he's much of a difference maker anymore...maybe he won't get in the way as much as some coaches can and/or won't derail a team into oblivion, but I'm not so sure he's the guy to get a team over the hump either.

Agree on this. Watching the next major collapse of that franchise is going to be magnificent. They've already gotta be paying out the ass for people to come work there with the stress and lack of job security. I just can't wait!
