I think you’ll have a hard time finding anyone who does understand it.

He’s due for a RFA arbitration raise after this season…maybe the Kings know something that we don’t (attitude, work ethic, etc)?  That they see something that makes them 100% not want to extend him beyond this year?  Because yeah, on the surface, this makes absolutely NO sense at all.

Who the fvck is Sean Durzi?

From the THN article: Durzi is a 24-year-old, right-shot defender with immense offensive upside, having finished 2022-23 with nine goals and 29 assists for 38 points in 72 games while logging nearly 20 minutes in average nightly ice time.

Yeah, I read it. You guys were just acting like it was some big crazy trade though, and I’ve never even heard of the dude.

He was big in the playoffs for them against the oilers. Yea, it didn't work out for them, but he was a an important piece. They've gotta be worried about the cap.

It’s more of ‘what is LA thinking dumping a player of his caliber and age and contract with RFA rights for a pick’; on the surface, it just doesn’t make a lot of sense.

I mean, I know he had at least one really good game against us this year and he’s a physical 24 year old D man but yeah for all I know this could be the equivalent of us getting a 3rd for Sharangovich.  I would be ecstatic with that but I’m sure other fan bases would look at it like we got robbed giving up a 25 year old who scored 24 goals last season for only a 3rd.

I think it because they have Brandt Clarke they did this for cap space. Not sure though I don’t follow the west closely

Did some digging and yes, this is part of the reason.

Also, he had the worst +/- rating on the Kings…and apparently that’s an accurate indicator of his play in his own end.  Guess he has potential but has things to work on.

Kings are doing… something…

i only know the three (including Durzi) because at points they all were on my fantasy hockey team and doing just fine to produce…

I think Rob Blake is losing his damn mind

I don’t get why teams are so enamored with a 60 point center whose $$$ ask is way too high and who has already begged his way off two teams.

You and I both.

Maybe the kings think. they. turned Fiala into more of a force than he was before so they can get lightning to strike twice.

There's a lot of Twitter chatter about Torey Krug not waiving his NTC to go to Philly. Like, he's not "cooperating"?  Maybe, before an agent or GM puts a trade out  in the media, maybe they might do their due diligence. Now every body's embarrassed. Torey knows they're trying to unload him, as does Kevin Hayes & Sanheim on the Philly aside. Only a jackass blames Krug. Wasn't it Armstrong that gave him & a vast majority of the others NTC/NMC. He gives them out like candy

Yeah agree totally.

Guess what…give players NTCs, they have every right in the world to exercise them.  And everyone involved in trying to make the deal needs to make sure ahead of time that the player involved is actually willing to waive it before proceeding to the next steps.  Yeah Krug is completely blameless here.

I am enjoying that for once this very publicly coming back to bite a GM in the ass. Even more so that people have said Petro not getting a NTC was a reason he went to Vegas.
