Isles one game away from being eliminated.  Horvat with a pure garbage time goal…he now has a whopping 8 G and 9 A in 34 GP as an Islander.  Ouch.

Remember when he showed up those first two weeks and they won a few games, he signed that mega deal, and islanders fans assured everyone it was the greatest move in the NHL?

The thing with him is that it was SO obvious that he was a big-time regression candidate.  Prior to this season he’d managed more than 53 points all of one time.  He was shooting an unsustainable 21.7% this year as a Canuck…he just enjoyed a career year.  If the Isles manage to get about 30 G and 60 points per 82 GP for the next 5 years or so, they should be thrilled.  But can’t say that’s killer value for what they’re paying.  If he winds up being more of a 50-55 point guy…yikes.

For all the complaining about rangers fans in our building for the playoffs at least their fan base actually lives here. Florida looked just as packed with Boston fans.

Original 6 teams have fans all over the country.  Expansion teams not so much.

I would like to congratulate the Toronto Maple Leafs on their Stanley Cup Victory… wait I’m sorry, 3-1 series lead.

(it was an amazing come back, I just can’t stand Leaf’s fans. Most punchable after the Rags)

Glad the Devils beat them in the playoffs in both 2000 and 2001.  The funny thing is after 2001, the Leafs tried to build a team specifically to take down the Devils...they would never meet again.

Imagine the pain you gotta go through to get that excited about a 3 to 1 series lead.

I hope Tampa can do a thing.

Oh man…Carolina’s Aho takes a puck right to his face (looks like it got him in the mouth) and goes right to Brock Nelson, who bats it while it’s still in the air for a goal.  Painful goal in many ways.

Left for personal reasons, hopefully his family and him are ok.

Someone, maybe one of the insiders, said it had to do with an incident in the hotel and maybe alcohol was involved. It must have been quite an incident for the team to send him home in the playoffs.
