GDT: Devils @ Hurricanes - Game 2 8:00PM 5/5 TNT

It all comes down to beating the aggressive Carolina forecheck.  They need to be better and quicker with their passes to get through the neutral zone.  Too much dump and chase game 1, which results in board battles.  They also need to be better with their sticks and they must be relentless getting the puck.

Unfortunately, I don’t think they are going to make the proper adjustments when there is a possibility of Smith suiting up.  I think Ruff is going for more physicality, rather than, playing their game.

I know many want to go with Luke, but I’m not sure if it’s the right thing to do against such a well coached team with a great forecheck and they are fast.

Let’s Go Devils!

Graves has been by far the weakest of the 6D IMO.   If we’re letting him watch from the pressbox for a game, I have no problem with Smith being in for a night, especially after Wednesday’s showing

Graves is weird. He can have some really strong games, but unlike Marino, he's wildly inconsistent.

Putting in Smith is a gross overreaction. Terrible mistake.

Tbf we said the same thing about playing Wood in game 7. And that worked out fine. I’ve made it quite clear that I would go with Luke over Smith, but let’s just hope Lindy pushes the right buttons once again.

Watching the preshow on MSG, Wood just said he was never scratched in his career..... Wut? Lol there was that home opener a few years ago where he was angry on the bench in the suit, it's been a go to gif for a long time now lol

"Miles Wood spent the first game of the season on the bench. He was the lone healthy scratch forward for the New Jersey Devils. It was clear on his face during Opening Night introductions that he wasn’t happy to be in a suit. Injuries to Kyle Palmieri and Drew Stafford in the first game gave him a shot to prove himself. Now, he’s making sure head coach John Hynes knows he needs to be in this lineup."
