Popular Post DevilMinder
Luke was so good, he is going to be a superstar like his brother. And shout out to mcleod, he really stepped up this post season. He was downright an anchor for the team to stabilize from at points.

Good, let that be one of Jones’ Crown Jewels we’ll get to laugh about 4-5 times a season like freaking Risto
NJDevils1214
Lindy confirms in the post game that Jack played though an injury tonight and was surprised he played. He refused to come out of the lineup.

Same thing can be said of Vanecek, but I firmly believe that Vanecek will bounce back, get another whack at things next year. I don't know if the regression is here to stay with Graves because he kind of went from being a big, mobile, guy who can get it up the ice himself or pass well to being that "up the boards and out" big guy. Not good and I actually think I'll pass on him too based on the regression. I think stay away from long-term deals too for him just based on his year this year. Very similar situation to Severson. Good enough for most NHL teams, not sure if he's worth what he will likely get paid. Hey guys, Lindy's presser isn't bad. Jack was dealing with something upper-body. DevilMinder
Lindy Ruff on Jack Hughes: "I didn't think he was going to play tonight. For him to put the skates on and play just says a lot about his character."Says it's an upper body injury. @NJDevils— Greg Wyshynski (@wyshynski) May 12, 2023

At least to me. Least consistent of the top 4 and when he was down, it was usually a 6 goal game against us. RizzMB30
Oh man. Watching that Fast goal again. Graves could have cleared the net, but he floated up higher in the slot more. Fast had Schmid screened and he got the tip. Just now, NJDevils1214 said: Yea I get that now that you elaborate. So color me shocked when I read he was floating like the Charmin ultra soft cloud he is. big body, useless with it.
NJDfan1711
Anyone else feel like Dougie was terrible in the playoffs, particularly this series? He looked so slow, was almost a non-factor on the PP compared to the regular season, and just didn't seem to bring much at all. I was really hoping his big body and size, not to mention experience, would be an asset in the post-season, but he seems incredibly soft and doesn't throw many hits. This again on top of him just being a legit parking cone so often.

I was more surprised at just how many times he allowed a Cane player who was forechecking to beat him to the puck.

I just think about him getting clipped the game after the all star game when I desperately wanted to blame Tkchyuck (or however you spell it) and he didn’t have the same Jack game breaking as he did and it took a while for him to break back out

Fast was on the left side too and it was Gravesy's side there. @NJDevils1214 and the COL fans I think were on to something regarding just his overall playoffs. I might even go back and watch every playoff game in the replays before my ESPN+ runs out and try to track some of the defensemen and their shifts. Check their possession numbers because I would bet that Graves regression hit just as we were coming into the playoffs. I was just saying that it's not all on Graves, but that may have really killed us. I don't know if Graves just gets fatigued maybe by this time of the year, maybe he was playing hurt, but yeah. Can't be held down by players who simply aren't going to get us there.

IMO, Marino has established himself as the best all around defender on this team, at least temporarily until Luke explodes Edited May 12 by Lateralous

Offense kind of dried up in all situations though for sure.
