This is ALL great, don't get me wrong, and the (not-so) new owners have done some nice things with the building over the past several years.

but for the love of GOD, can the restrooms get some DESPERATELY needed TLC already?!

I also wouldn't mind seeing the former Fire and Ice Lounges get some kind of refresh...yeah, the original Fire and Ice Lounges aged badly very quickly, as the quality of materials clearly didn't match the concept renderings that looked so cool initially.  But the replacements are just so bland and cafeteria-like.  No identity at all...they just kind of exist.

Well this doesn't look promising for the new food vendor, $16 for a hot dog with a little extra stuff on it, what an absolute joke. Comments said chicken tenders are now $20 for 3 and some fries too. I didn't look at any concessions even though I've been to 2 games already cause as long as we don't have fan friendly prices I'm not buying anything...

Yeah I'm pretty much to the point that if I'm not in the Loft or restaurant (90% of the time I grab Loft seats), I'd rather just get something to eat somewhere else before the game.  I know prices on damned near everything has gone up to the point where it's hard to be shocked, but I'm sorry, $16 for a footlong just reeks of lunacy to me.

Our problem is that we’ve all just gotten so used to “Well that’s arena pricing” that we simply deal with it.  Even if the pricing is truly beyond insane and/or the quality of the offerings is clearly not up to snuff.

The days of dollar hot dog night long gone.. I’ve read nothing but negative comments on the new food on FB. With that, what’s beer going for in there this year? I can usually do without food but if I’m going to a game I’m having a couple beers

Same, for people who haven't seen...

The 3 tender w/fries was $14.99.

I think the 5 tender meal was $19.99 last night.

Note, the 3 tenders seemed much smaller than last year.

Nevertheless, except for the pizza, and that maybe half the concessions were open, the open ones were packed in both intermissions, just before the game, they were basically all no wait.

I will not be touching Prudential Center concession food. Eating beforehand for me.

If I'm ever not in the lofts, the only stuff I would do at this point is either cookies or Auntie Anne's pretzels.  The rest...hard pass.  Same as you, I'll stop off and eat better food for less money (or at least for money that seems fair for what I'm getting).

Thought you guys were known for your pizza up there. :P

That's what makes that "slice" of whatever that's supposed to be that much more offensive lmao.

That being said, even here where there's GOOD pizza all over the place, you STILL see some people in NJ order Domino's, Papa John's, Little Caesar...I don't get it at all.

Given the discussion taking place in this thread, figured I'd bring up the quality of the "non-concession" areas to chow down (food is included with your ticket) - I've been to each one a bunch through the years:

THE RESTAURANT:

Location:  Devils attack once side

Good variety here (carving stations, some made-to-order stations (such as ravioli, where you pick the ingredients yourself), and the food here is the best in the building.  Of course, like anything, the "fancier" offerings can vary from game-to-game; it all depends what you're into.  Atmosphere is comfortable and pleasant enough, even when somewhat crowded.

PROS:  You can actually sit AND watch the game while eating, and do it in relative comfort, because the restaurant had a nice ledge to put your food and drink down, right at your seat.  I'm always scared sh!tless that I'm going to spill something on myself when I sit in a "typical" seat...I usually seek out some kind of table for that very reason.  This is also the only eatery that actually gives you real SILVERWARE to use; for some reason, both the Loft AND the Club seats insist on giving you flimsy plastic-ware to try to cut offerings like steak, briscuit, prime rib, etc.

CONS:  Being behind the Devils attack once side, and these tix are usually also hard to come by in terms of availability.  They can also be quite pricey (but surprising bargains can definitely be found).

THE LOFTS:

Location:  Devils attack twice side

Figure this to be a slight cut below the restaurant, all-around; there's carving stations, and much of what is offered in the restaurant is offered here as well, but with a little less variety.  There's booths and several other areas to sit and eat, but you don't get the luxury of the restaurant area-ledge, so here it's a little more eat before the game and during intermissions, than inhaling food at your seat.  The bar here is nicer than the one in the restaurant, and I find the general "feel" of this place to be a little more inviting overall than the restaurant.  I find the restaurant to be a "nice place to visit", while this place feels more like home.

PROS:  Being behind the Devils attack twice side, comfortable seats (larger than standard), never so many people that you rarely feel overwhelmed trying to get food and drink, due to not that many seats in this area.  Pricing for these seats tend to offer the best "Bang for the buck", and there's usually seats available through secondary markets for almost every game.

CONS:  Lack of real silverware (be prepared for your plastic-ware to snap in your hand multiple times should you dare to cut into various carving offerings).  As the serving area is basically much like a long tight hallway, it can get a little congested at times.

CLUB SEATS:

Location:  In front of the former Fire and Ice Lounges

This is a further cut beneath the Lofts...there's carving stations here too, lots of offerings, but everything here from the chicken fingers to the burgers and dogs to the "fancier" options just "feels" lower quality all-around.  The worst part of the club seat eateries is the complete lack of ANY atmosphere; they should call these areas the Nico Lounge and Timo Lounge (no insult to either one of them of course), in that just like Switzerland, these two cafeterias (the one word to describe them) are about as neutral as it gets.  The bar, the tables...NOTHING here stands out at all, and the crowds here tend to feel the most suffocating.  For some reason, there's always a pile of homemade chips strewn on either row of food offerings...if your idea of a great potato chip is one completely devoid of any flavor, by all means, grab yourself a handful and call it a day.

PROS:  Without question, the sightlines, and the higher up you sit, the more you're able to see.  You get a real sense of both how big AND how fast these guys really are, especially as you sit closer to the action.

CONS:  No atmosphere whatsoever...you might as well be sitting in a corporate cafeteria on buffet day.  No silverware.  Place can feel oppressingly crowded during intermissions, much more so than the restaurant and Lofts during the same times; if you're sitting in a lower row, it can take a while to get to the buffet area if you don't leave your seat prior to intermissions...the line to go up backs up very quickly.  Prices can be insane here, especially considering that the overall experience is not as fully enjoyable as those found in the restaurant and Lofts.

I like the Lofts the most, with the restaurant a close second, but I find the Lofts to almost always offer the best pure bang for the buck.  I pretty much avoid the Club seats now...on the rare occasions that I sat there last year, I was almost instantly reminded why I prefer the Lofts.

Yeah dude I’m with you; I’m not drinking mixed drinks at a hockey game. You do get two beers for the $16 you’re shelling out for a tall boy, and I’d rather drink two or three of those because at least I know I’ll be buzzing 🤣

I didn't buy anything but the lines for concessions last night looked really long and slow. With the prices of things I'll never buy anything but anyone have any reports on the quality?

I was in the Lofts yesterday, so I can report on that (I'll be in the restaurant tonight).

I wouldn't really say that the food in the Lofts was better or worse overall...but it was different.  The sliders no longer come wrapped, and the beef is much thicker...I'd say the new ones maybe a little better than the previous sliders, but not by much.  I didn't try the hot dogs, but now they're grilled instead of boiled/dirt water (very visible grill marks on the dogs) and they were marinating in kraut.  They had brisket at the carving stations...that was pretty good, but no different than when brisket was offered in previous seasons; of course, no silverware, just that plastic "pretend" crap.  The chicken fingers were better previously; the new ones are less crunchy and a little dryer...not bad, just not as good.  My daughter loves pasta, and they had noodles last night, but she said they were nothing special...she said they were a little undercooked.  The rest I sampled largely by sight, and it all looked ok.  In a couple months I'll have a wider sampling to go by; also, from what I could tell, dessert offerings seem to be about on par...we had some red velvet cupcakes and they were pretty much the same as previous years.
