Nicomo
A 1st PP unit of Timo, Nico, Jack, Stamkos, and Dougie would be ridiculous.
njbuff
The Devils don’t need a mid 30’s Stamkos. They need a physical force in the top 6 and Stamkos ain’t it. Timo, Bratt, Hischier, both Hughes, Hamilton and Nemec is among the best offense in the NHL. The Devils need a few forwards who are a physical force more than anything. Didn’t Florida teach us that? Timo is plenty physical when healthy.

I understand Steve Dangle's frustration. I am a frequent sub to SD freakouts about the Leafs core four. But yeah. Run it back, try to do some surgery on the defense. So they bring back Lilegren, Domi, and Giordano and Lybushkin want to come back too. To me it looks like they are mostly running it back. While I'm not thrilled with all the turnover here in NJ, I would be kind of pissed if I was a Leafs fan and it looks like management is going to run it back with the core 4 again and pray Woll stays healthy. I heard Tanev is their top target, and I think they traded for his rights. That’s gonna be their big move on D it appears.

His breakdown on his podcast on why they cannot continue this salary structure for 4 forwards, and even 3 if their plan is just to run out the Tavares contract, was a good listen. Need more guys who play big boy hockey Timo getting injured a lot is a complete myth. Prior to this past season, in the six full seasons Timo played (two of them shortened to 70 games and 56 games due to Covid), you know what the most games he missed in any given season was? Five. Being injured a lot is not his history at all.

Let's hope the all stay a lot healthier than last year.

Holy fvck was that so hard TOR? WHY WAS THAT SO fvckIN HARD? Also the Leafs add Stolarz. Edited July 1 by RizzMB30

Nicomo
Smart move by the Habs, imo. Just like the Devils betting on Jack. Slaf is going to be a total stud very soon.

Agree, seems like a lot right now, but this is what a lot of teams do these days. No new contract worries for a while, and lots of potential bargain years. And of course the player gets lots of life-changing money up front.
