He’s so bad. I would feel sorry for him if he wasn’t such a dismissive, shrug-off-everything ass when he was with us. So glad him and Wood are long gone.

Yeah his whole “Well that’s my game and I’m not gonna change”…well, at least he’s sure telling the truth.  And that why he’s NEVER improved all that much.  Same mistakes different season.

Oh great, LaffyTaffy scored... The puff articles are in the works.

The good news is that it’s not like Lafrenière has truly improved…he’s only managed 7 SOG through 6 games.  He doesn’t generate enough SOG…never has…not even close to 2 SOG per game for his career.  He’s not going to keep shooting 42.9%.

Every time he’s appeared to be getting it going in the past, it was ALWAYS shooting%-driven…which is why his “surges” have never been sustainable.  Just like now.

I know they said they were gonna ban all the different warm up jerseys but it's really stupid if they don't wear the purple jerseys for hockey fights cancer. The jerseys are auctioned off and the money gets donated to fighting cancer. I can at least understand the argument against the other nights even if I don't agree with it but nobody out there actually likes cancer, so dumb.

Agree fully with all of this, it doesn't always have to be a friggin' "ALL OR NOTHING!" approach.  HFC (and everything that comes with it) should never go away.  Enough people have family and friends who've dealt with cancer that HFC games have some meaning beyond the games themselves.

Edmonton is so bad without McDavid. 1 win through 7 games. Only SJ is worse.

Speaking of SJ...Blackwood now has an .863 save% over his last four games (SJ lost all of four of course, in regulation).

Look, that's obviously a bad team, but Mac ain't gonna help them much.  And that's OK...SJ could use some high picks over the next couple of years to rebuild, and Mac will help them with tanking.

What will be interesting to see is if Hertl is willing to deal with what figures to be 2-4 years of non-contention.  He's signed for 7 more years...I can't imagine he's that keen on spending his remaining prime years stuck on a rebuilding team.  Of course the issue is does anyone want Hertl at that kind of money ($8,137,500 AAV) for that long?  Since 2018-19 he's been good for about 68 points per 82 GP, and he'll soon turn 30.

LafyTaffy scored again tonight. Gonna make his disappearing act so much harder for rags fans.

Shot attempts per game (career):  2.56

Shot attempts per game (this season):  3.29

Shots on goal per game (career):  1.44

Shots on goal per game (this season):  1.42

Shooting% (career):  15.8

Shooting% (this season):  40

Yeah, pretty much everything screams "future regression candidate" here.  Ranger fans who don't pay much attention to anything beyond quick-glance stats might think this is the kid taking a major step forward, but it's not, really...the puck just happens to be going in for him right now, at a completely unsustainable rate.  Unless he starts getting a couple more minutes' worth of ice time per game or starts putting considerably more shots on goal, I don't see him scoring much more than 20 goals this year...if all breaks absolutely right and he winds up shooting over 20% in one of those "crazy puck luck" seasons, maybe he even finds a way to flirt with 25.  But that will wind up being a career year for him.

Sharks now 0-7-1 and have been outscored 31-8…and the only reason that they even have a point is that Blackwood had an amazing game.  They’ve also now been shut out twice in a row.

This is 1974-75 Capitals bad…yikes.

They've scored 8 goals in 8 games...yikes+..... Big Z with 2 of them....They may not even win 10 games this year....They could be relegated  to the AHL....
