Shesterkin:  3.02 GAA, .902 Save%, -0.067 GSAA/per 60 min

Schmid:  3.03 GAA, .901 Save%, -0.076 GSAA/per 60 min

Scary how close their numbers are this season.

Not saying that Shesterkin can't or won't figure things about (nor am I trying to imply that somehow Schmid is as good), but he's definitely been more of a mixed-bag kind of goalie since winning his Vezina, than the lockdown sure-thing that I'm sure the Ranger faithful thought that they had once Shesterkin turned in that absolute top-notch season in 2021-22.

I like him as a potential Lindy replacement.

It's funny, look at the "talent" that's currently on the Blues roster...what exactly was Berube supposed to do with that?  Especially now that Binnington has gone back to being Bennington (.883 save% over his last 10 games).  Maybe an interim gives them a temporary lift, but seems like that team just isn't all that good at the moment.

What's wrong with the newish arena they currently play in?

From what I've been reading is that because Ted wants to own everything and this way he can own the new arena and everything else around it in the "entertainment district" and DC also didn't want to give him like 600 million to upgrade the current arena even though it had upgrades not that long ago but VA is giving them tons of money to make the move.

It's typical billionaires being scumbags as usual story.

It's not official though cause it still has to be passed by VA and I'm sure a lot of nimbys will be speaking out against it.

I agree, they're (STL B) not '79 Habs. Same thing occurred when Deboer was here. Sh>t team, same when Hynes was here, & especially Maclean. We, as fans, always have higher expectations of our team when season starts. (we're way better than our record indicates) We piss & moan some players are not "used" correctly (another bs line)

btw, Lindy is going no where. And Twitter is all aglow with rumors about Gibson possibly being traded to us? They call it "low risk, high reward"?? He's making 6.4 mil now, and for next 3 seasons. If he comes here & sh>ts the bed, will teams be lining up to take him off our hands? I've seen enough of him to say he's overrated. I know he's been on a  bad team. I'm hoping VV & Schmido get better.  I'm sorry, but I'll never be on board with fire Lindy peeps.  In Fitz we trust.

Look how much the team turned around not long after MacLean was fired; sadly in his case, he was 100% wrong for the job...Lemaire himself said he was shocked how much he needed to work on his team's conditioning before he could really work on adjustments to their style of play (which is why it took even more games under Lemaire before went on that second-half rampage).  Sucked because I was such a huge fan of Mac the player.

As for Lindy...like I said, I think he has limitations, and I do think there are coaches who can get more of this particular team than him...but is it anyone who's actually available?  It doesn't matter anyway what I think of him, because at 15-11-1 and the season having stabilized for now (even though this 7-2 run hasn't been as impressive overall as the record suggests), it would take a tailspin and Fitz deciding to do every last thing to salvage the season before he'd fire a guy that he just extended.  So even though I'll occasionally get frustrated with the issues that continue to be issues game in and game out and will wonder if Lindy's a guy who's really going to get the most out of the considerable talent that Fitz has given him to work with, I know he's safe for the foreseeable future.

So the whole Jordan Kyrou thing in STL is super weird. He basically declined to speak much on the Berube firing saying he had no opinion since Berube is not his coach anymore, and now fans are booing him on their own ice. Saw postgame interviews and dude was literally in tears. Toxic sports fans are the absolute worst.

I'm just explaining what I've read, people took that no comment as a shot at Berube because normally guys will say stuff along the lines of we didn't play well enough, we let him down, he was good coach, etc etc etc. Apparently Berube had called him Jordan out in the past about his play too so it's understandable that fans would take that comment that he was happy to see Berube fired.

Now add in that fans there love Berube because he's the one and only coach who has ever got their team to win a Stanley Cup and add in that most of their fans seem to think Jordan is an overpaid and doesn't seem to play hard every night after the 8 million a year contract he was given and is part of the reason Berube got fired it makes more sense.

They also apparently booed the GM Doug Armstrong for firing Berube as well because they think he's the reason the team is not performing as well and that he's the one who should have been fired, not Berube...

The fans wanted to hold him accountable for his comment which they deemed an insult to the coach they liked and they did, I never have any issues with the fans wanting to send a message, these guys get paid a ton of money and it costs a ton of money and time to be a fan of any major league team.

Personally if you wanna give me a 65 million dollar contract you can boo me all you want and I'd still have no problems sleeping at night lol

Eh, the whole thing was just uncouth, imo. And fans booing their own players (for whatever reason) will never not be dumb to me.

Plus they just seem to be a terrible fanbase anyway going back to the Kadri thing.

I have no issues with booing anyone for on ice related stuff, like chanting fire Lindy,  fans are not cheerleaders who have to be positive no matter what the situation is.

Agreed 100% on the Kadri stuff.

Depends on the reason.  I wouldn't say fans should NEVER boo their own players...especially if it's a player who's clearly not giving nearly enough effort.

But for the most part, I agree that it's better to try to support your own guys and let them know that when this guy or that guy is off to a tough start or going through a serious funk, that you're still rooting for them to pull out of it.
