I think Lindy's leash is a bit longer simply because of the injuries. They still shouldn't be playing this bad without Nico and Timo but once those 2 come back there are no more excuses.

My beef is his team continually looking unprepared for the first periods of these games no matter WHO the opponent.  Even without Nico and Timo, that should not be the consistent issue that it’s become.  I just can’t with him anymore.

Re: Fitz and his loyalty to Ruff

I don't feel like this is anywhere close to the Shero/Hynes blind loyalty thing YET.   Tomorrow if you're going with an interim coach, or after the Sharks game for a full staff change when you have 3 days off, is the first time Fitz could realistically fire Lindy since he made the choice to stick with him for the '22-'23 season (After game 2 last season was never going to happen).  While I don't think he's the greatest gameday coach, I haven't necessarily been on the "Fire Lindy" bandwagon until these last two games which changed everything for me.   The entire group looks like they are dejected and out of answers.   If they can't find a way to get 2 points tonight (fire him tomorrow) AND at least 6 points this week in 4 winnable games before leaving for the West coast, then I think Fitz needs to pull the plug and I will have him on the clock to do something.

As for a shakeup trade or acquiring another goalie that others have mentioned, those things don't happen on demand.  You need to have a dance partner.  If things don't change starting tonight, the first move has to be the coach.  This roster is too good not to see if someone else can get significantly more out of them.

I fire Lindy first, and once things settle down, then see about considering a personnel move.  Of course also want to see if Nico and Timo coming back (in tandem with a new HC) also helps.

The lying to the fans is so insulting. Timo is short term? Nico is day by day? It’s one thing to not be transparent and another to outright lie.

Yeah I’ve had it with the way the feel they’re permitted to disclose injury info to the public. The NHL should have a policy about it like the NFL. It’s a gambling world now, so teams should be required to be transparent.

I always had some hope that Tyce would take that step. But he never did.

He has connections with Bridgeport and the Islanders org, so maybe he felt it was a good fit with more chance of making the NHL.

Makes sense. His dad is the coach of the Islanders AHL affiliate (Bridgeport Sound Tigers?)

The guy we got in exchange sounds like a career AHL'er at best.

Tyce Thompson is pretty much looking like a career AHLer himself.

I feel like when Willman got the call up instead of Tyce, it was pretty much over for him.

Probably true since we were paying Tyce on a one way deal and this new guy is on a two way.  No point paying NHL money to a guy you won't even call up when a 1/4 of our NHL forward group is injured.

I read a little about him on the HFBoards Isles page.  Dude seems to have some speed and there was some hope he could eventually become a 4th liner in New York.   I'm sure the $$$ was the driving factor but maybe this guy can do a little something when injuries in NJ warrant it.

Not to mention he's has injury issues. He missed a good chunk of last season iirc.

When you come right down to it, it really feels like more of a "What the hell" kind of trade, than anything else...sure, as @Lateralous pointed out, there's some cap implications involved, and Willman appears to have moved ahead of Thompson, but seems doubtful that either franchise came away with any kind of steal here.
