I mean come on be a little more vague Worse case scenario means an injury that would end his season. So he will be back at some point this season reportedly. No telling yet when that will be. But if they don’t LITR him you know they are expecting he’s out no more than a month.

What you see is what you’ve got. I think you may have to calibrate your expectations some…I’ll explain. For one, when you come right down to it, Timo’s never really been a pure “points horse”…I think the last two seasons are about what you should expect offensively…that being 30-40 G and 30-40 A, as long as he stays healthy and does miss many games. Given the level of talent here, I can see him putting up more assists here than he did as a Shark, so maybe he manages 45 A or more here and there. And of course he brings more of a physical element here that was lacking previously…he’s what I would call a solid “all-arounder”, a guy who isn’t necessarily elite at any one thing, but can cover a lot of bases very well. Unlike Jack, whose contract had potential “absolute steal” value from Day 1 due to his massive potential (which hadn’t yet been fulfilled when he signed it), Timo’s contract is much more pure “market value”. If he’s putting up 65-75 points per 82 GP and providing snarl and physicality…for his cap hit, you can do a lot worse. But given the situation he was never likely to be a real bargain-type signing. Or look at it this way…if the Devils had either traded him during this season or let him walk at the end of the year, would they really have been better off? With the cap going up in the years to come, if Timo’s doing what I suggest that he should, are we really going to be lamenting his hit? Fitz both targeting Timo AND signing him to that kind of contract tells me that Fitz absolutely believes this guy fills a very specific need and purpose. Timo has been here for all of 31 regular season games…that may seem like a lot, but it really isn’t. The points have started to come a little more consistently…hopefully that continues.
