Dont hear to much about analytics these days, do we still have an analytics guy/team???

Lets Go Devils !

At this point I think it’s just baked into the cake that every team has analytics people and they help evaluate their team and trades.  A few years ago, it seemed like you heard a lot more because everyone was out there trying to prove they were going to be the Billy Beane of hockey.

Getting an Avs team coming off a 7-0 loss isn’t going to be easy.   I’ll be happy if we can grind out a point tonight.   LGD!

There’s no reason why this group has to be thought of this way, they’re as good as anyone out there.. be confident and go get a solid W

Without Jack and Nico, no, they’re not quite as good as anyone out there, but most nights they should still be able to be competitive (unless affected by heavy scheduling…and of course, every team turns in the occasional dud, as the Avs just did in losing 7-0).

If they can piece together another win, great.  Won’t beat them up if they don’t.

If the questionable goaltending can do their job there’s no reason that this team the way it currently stands can’t be Colorado… next.

The Avs are pretty much fully healthy, especially when it comes to their stars.  Devils are down two very key players...including one who is clearly their very best.

I didn't say that the Devils CAN'T win...just that it would be great if they did, and I won't get on them if they don’t.  That Avs team is very talented and is mostly playing at full strength.

I'm just not one of those fans who treats every single game as an equally winnable entity.

MacKinnon has started uhhh sloweerr than usual...at least in the same way Timo has at just under a ppg. He's only got like 2 points in his last 4gp. Let's hope he stays quiet but Colorado have been shut out a few times lately so I would anticipate an angry group.

27 goals over their first 6 games, now shut out in three of their last four.  Weird.

The betting sights should have a prop bet on this 🤣

BTW speaking of Wood:

Wood:  10 GP, 1 G, 1 A, -2, 6 PIM

Tatar:  9 GP, 0 G, 4 A, -3 (only 4 SOG...yikes)

I'm guessing Wood will wind up with his typical numbers...about 31 points per 82 GP (he never plays that many).

Tatar is more of a wild card...I didn't want him back because it felt like a lot broke right for him last year...his 2021-22 was still fresh in my mind as to what he could be if he came back...just felt like the Devils had gotten all that they possibly could have out of him.  Glad he was looking for more term and overplayed his hand...Toffoli is simply the better fit.

I think Tatar will be a key cog for them with some of the vets they are losing to age and injury. I see him as a suitable stop gap for a player like Cogliano.
