Devils are definitely going to need a real coach one of these seasons.  They have lots of talent (especially when healthy) and I know the players love Lindy but eventually there will be a coach who will be able to sand off some of the rough edges and get more out of them.

McGill at the very least needs to be on the hot seat. The defense is atrocious.

Game is still tight…pleeeeeeease for the love of God don’t wind up losing this one 6-3 or something like that.  Please no “same ol same ol in Winnipeg” yet again.

Team has a shot…c’mooooooooon!

Dougie is a veteran, and supposedly super smart, why does he make so many mental mistakes?

I’m also officially ready to call Palat’s deal terrible at this point. I was holding out hope, but he’s a fvcking ghost. Rare misstep for Fitz, who’s mostly killed it with his FA signings, trades, etc.

This, and despite what the national media would have everyone believe, the problem is much wider and deeper than the performances of Vanecek and Schmid.  I won’t go so far as to say I miss Damon Severson, but the collective play of the defensemen has been laughable.

whatever palat is so called “contributing in the locker room” as a lot of people like to use to defend him isn’t cutting it anymore. He has produced nothing.

I’d take graves and seves back yesterday if I could

No arguments here, even if the primary reason for adding him was for his experience and to be a vet presence, he’s gotta bring more than that.  He hasn’t been good enough this season.

I’d take at least one of them to get Smith out of the lineup. I’m pretty happy with Luke overall though, so not sure how it would have worked to keep both.

On point with Palat, he didn’t step up and lead during the Jack-less time.

Graves yes, Severson hell-freaking-no.

Graves?  Sure.  Seves?  Meh.

Luke’s play doesn’t bother me that much, as he’s young, but Hamilton and Smith are infuriating.  I’m still steamed about the former’s bad read that led to the Wood breakaway.

Luke for Seves was a no-brainer, on every level.

What sucks is Plan A (Miller to be the stopgap until Nemec is ready) has yet to materialize.  It sucks even more than Plan B was to throw Smith out there and hope for the best…he blows just as much as he did most of last season.

I’m all for Plan C being Nemec getting a look if he keeps progressing with Utica.  But I’m done with any plan that sees Smith playing.  He’s just not any good.

Everyone "doesn't miss by much" when Dano is working the game.
