How does that help your case for wanting him? I don’t want any 39 year old goalie.

It was a response to the prior comment sarcastically referencing Halak.

And I don't care how old the goalie is if he can deliver league average play.  VV and AS (one nice save notwithstanding) come up short there.

So Siegs take a penalty but doesn't even help defuse the play.

Nice.

It’s been a rough season for our Swiss

Nico - hurt

Timo - hurt

Akira - mostly bad

Siegs - brutal

If Halak could deliver league average goaltending he’d be on a roster.

By that logic no justification for dumping Lindy -- if his replacement were any good he'd be behind a bench already.

Yup-- that term perfectly describes your own professed logic.

Halak had his career. It’s over and done with. OTOH there’s countless guys who might actually become good coaches given the opportunity. Or it could end up in a Robinson/Berube type outcome.

Your comparison doesn’t even come close to making sense.

Dude, you don't read very carfeully.

Think whatever you want about Halak.

But it is simplistic and extremely poor logic to assert that he couldn't possibly be competent because of the sole fact that he isn't on a roster.  And that's what you said.

And this garbledygook about "careers being over" is just plain stupid.

Unless and until coaches dumped the sideline are rehired, there is no way of asserting with certainty that their careers are not over.  Ex post facto argument.  Pretty amateur.
