SMoke that Schmid is about to be traded now, might be why.

I’m slightly bummed. I was always high on him, and I’ll never forget what he did to the Rags.

Best of luck to him in Vegas.

And there it is. Holtz was just never destined to be a Devil. Terrible pick considering who all was still on the board.

Yeah didn’t like the pick at the time.  And though Holtz had his share of issues, the organization didn’t do a great job with him either.  Now we’ll see if a new start sees him begin to make major strides.

This deal tells you that Fitz & Co didn’t think Holtz was ever going to do enough to crack the Top 6.  So they dealt him for a guy who’s meant to be a Bottom 6er.

Their offensive numbers to this point in their young careers are similar, FWIW.

I know nothing about Paul Cotter.   Is he at least big and mean?

He’s a pretty big dude; 6’2” 213. I watched a lot of Vegas last year; he fits the ‘harder to play against’ mold.

Ok that seems like a horrible, horrible trade on our part.

This reeks of a trade that can burn you 2 years down the line.

Cotter is a spare part. Lazar is basically penciled in as our 4th line center. I guess you throw him on the wing in a pinch.
