Derek21
sh!t goal? Hardly. Canada got running around and the puck trickled off his own D-man in. Luongo's stoned the Czechs several times. This has been an awesome game.
Weekes Head
2nd period over, 2-1 Canada after two.
Weekes Head
Wow, quite a scramble at the end of the period, both teams seem to be getting a lot of chances in the closing seconds of the first.Scoreless after the first. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Congrats on your 9,000th post <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hey, didn't even notice! Thanks!
Derek21
The third should be great. Both these teams have played awesome and created great chances forcing several big saves from each goalie. By far the best game so far in the tournament. Don
sh!t goal? Hardly. Canada got running around and the puck trickled off his own D-man in. Luongo's stoned the Czechs several times. This has been an awesome game. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The replay CBC had showed the puck going directly in... no deflection off the D. Maybe he was screened and didn't see it, but still you have to stop that shot from that angle. That said, Luongo has stopped something like 27 of 28. We're getting badly out-shot and Luongo is doing his job out there. It's sorta like Brodeur. He makes so many awesome saves that when he lets in an easy one, you have to forgive it... it more than evens out.

Derek21
Nice defense Niedermayer. I supposed that was Luongo's fault too . edit: Regehr also got caught napping on that play. Well, pretty much all of Canada did. Edited September 12, 2004 by Derek21
NJDevs4978
3-3, now Luongo's given up as many goals in one game as Marty did in the whole tournament What resilence by the Czechs though, I mean EACH time after Canada scored they swarmed the Canadian net like a pack of wolves immediately after. LizDevil30
Nice defense Niedermayer. I supposed that was Luongo's fault too . <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Marty would've had that. But Marty would only have let by one.

Derek21
Canada is not playing good defense like they did in front of Brodeur. Maybe it's just the Czechs skill.
Derek21
Elias is the best Czech tonight. I want OT!
Giuseppe
Why are there SO many excuses for every goal Luongo allows? Face it, he's not half the goaltender Brodeur is and never will be. It's unfortunate for those who blindly defend him, but oh well. They can only deal with hypotheticals and they're all they will have--for a while. Edited September 12, 2004 by Giuseppe
Derek21
Because Luongo has made 8-10 awesome saves in this game. He's faced twice the shots Brodeur has in any game and the Czechs have had much more quality chances than in the other games.
