SNOW!!!!!!!!

It started snowing really hard this afternoon during my Chem class. When I finally got done with my buttload of classes, I totally relaxed and drank some hot cocoa.

Anywhoo, I was lazy and took some pictures from my building. I was going to take more because some things and places, like the statue dragon, look really cool covered in snow. But, I'm lazy.

Nice pic.  So you took pics because you were lazy, and then didn't take pics because you were lazy?

No, no... took the pictures from her building rather than walk around and take pictures.

We got flurries here today. I don't mind snow. I actually love snow. I hate ICE. Ice sucks. You can't roll it into ball and make icemen. You can't pack it together and make an ice-fort. You can't have an ice-ball fight (unless you want to hurt someone). We've had more ice storms thus far this year than snow storms, so the sidewalks are murder. The flurries actually made walking a little easier... gave you something sticky to walk in.

Hey Ally,

"the statue dragon".....are you at Drexel?  Just wondering.  My son, a HS senior, has applied there and we are still awaiting word.  At least there would be another Devils fan there!!!

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

That's where I be!! He'll probably get in, I think there's a pretty high acceptance rate. I like it here, but it's not easyyyy! We run on quarters, instead of semesters, so we have ten weeks per term. So, you have 10 weeks to learn Organic Chem III, while at regular schools, kids would have 15 weeks? Basically, you can't slack off, or its really hard to catch up. Housing is alright. Tell your son to apply for Honors. I didn't think I was going here (because I had only visited once and the tour didn't really give me that much of a view of the school) so I didn't apply for Honors. Honors kids get the best housing. So, right now, I'm living in a 12x15 room with my roommate and sharing a bathroom with the girls on the floor for only $2,000 a term (remember, they're quarters), plus all that other stuff they just add onto it. At first, you'll think the dining hall is great, but then you'll think that the food all tastes the same. It'll lower your standards so that whenever something mediocre is served in the dining hall, you get excited and think its great. Forget about parking. Garage parking works on a lottery-system per term, so you're not guaranteed anything and there's like a 20-page long waiting list for all of the parking lots. That only leaves parking on the street, where it is very likely you're car will get broken into.. remember it's West Philly! (At least it's not Temple in North Philly  ) Other than that, everyone is pretty nice here, including the professors, TAs, and students.

Whoa. Long review of Drexel. It also depends on what college he's applying to (CoMad, CoAS, CoIST, Tdec - Engineering, etc)

Anywhooo. I hate snow right now. I don't want to go to class tomorrow morning. They did a really lousy job of shoveling/salting, and I know it won't be any better in the morning.

I heard it's supposed to snow more on Saturday.

I miss New Jersey :( and the summer!!!!!

It snowed a little where a live. I went to sleep at 3 and woke up at 6:30 to snowww! It's making me sad that we've had such wussy snow falls so far. I need a snow day, please!!

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

No fair!!! We don't get snow days unless there's like 5 feet of snow!!! Dammit, I used to get out for like 2 inches.

Well, duh, you're in college! lol. My high school cancels school easily because half of the school comes on buses from far away, including me with my 45 minute bus ride during which my like Haitian bus driver plays the French radio.

This was pretty weak. I personally love driving in the snow... well, except for the other people on the road. I love going to the mall and movies in snowstorms... so much less crowded.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Me too. Best was, even in Montreal, people would stay in. I mean, they'd still go to work, but if it was -40 with a foot of snow, there'd be NOBODY at the pubs... just how I like it!

yeah just in time to prolly crush my next albany trip :P

 snow !!!!

:noclue: We went to Albany tonight...

My first car was a Hyundai Scoupe and I once lost control of it making a left turn onto Hylan Blvd and hit a guy pretty solidly who was illegally parked... that car made me way nervous about a lot of bad weather conditions too (also didn't like to stop totally in the rain :P)... that kinda stuff sticks with you years later

(not to mention i showed the forecast to my guest and she had a sh!t fit on the temp's for Sat in Albany  )

Thing is you'd only have bad roads near you... once you get to the Parkway, that's nice, then 87 is beautiful. Albany takes care of their roads too, let me tell ya, so it would be smooth sailing as soon as you got to GSP.

Temps in Albany are made better with long underwear :) That's what we did.

sheeps that's the funny part.. I'm like a mile from the parkway on-ramp :D

It started where I am in NJ (15 minute drive west of CAA) about 1/2 hour ago. We are supposed to get at least a foot, maybe more. They are using the "B" word (Blizzard, not Bitch) for this one. I went food shopping yesterday and I'm all set for the weekend.
