devspage 0 Posted December 20, 2002 Fourth Period.com on home page again reporting the Devs-Avs rumor, quoting Neverson -- but I don't see that story at the Post site.Mark (N)Єverson reports in today's New York Post that New Jersey Devils GM Lou Lamoriello may be considering a deal of Patrik Elias, Mike Danton and a second-rounder to the Colorado Avalanche for Alex Tanguay, Martin Skoula and Dan Hinote. It is speculated however that Colorado GM Pierre Lacroix will wait to see how the current roster performs under new coach Tony Granato.
Triumph 1,380 Posted December 20, 2002 Absurdity. You'd think that (N)Єverson would put a modicum of thought into his rumors, but he doesn't. A 'legit' rumor would be Elias and Danton for Hedjuk and Hinote. Unless (N)Єverson is such a lazy journalist that he assumes Tanguay's 77 points means he's a good player. insanity_gallops 9 Posted December 21, 2002 Don't eXpect this deal to come through. The Hejduk deal is more realistic, I'll admit. But hey, SBT, what's that you've been saying about Hejduk?
devspage 0 Posted December 21, 2002 And didn't this come after a report in one of the legit papers saying that the Devs absolutely don't want Hinote?
Nedved 4 President 0 Posted December 21, 2002 At this point it'd be a pretty even deal. Elias isn't really producing that much and neither is Tanguay. Skoola and Danton are pretty much throw ins. Hinote adds a little something to the Devils but not much.

I can assure you that the Avs would kick everyone avs if this deal went down. It's like akin to getting Drury back.I don't see the Devils getting anything out of this (unless the ONLY objective is salary dump), and that's why I think it's either what the Avs WANT out of the deal or just a complete (N)Єverson fabrication. History leans toward the latter.
Risky 10 Posted December 21, 2002 Bullsh!t. This deal is garbage - no way I'd trade Patty for any of those jokers - career slump or not.
MantaRay 72 Posted December 21, 2002 I have to agree with Risky, Patty is a premier player and we are giving him away for potential and scrubs?I dont think Patty is getting traded.
NJayDevil 0 Posted December 22, 2002 Patty isn't going anywhere but into the Hall of Fame, as a Devil.
