Any Plumbers?

OK, my township told me I used 50,000 gallons of water in January of which I wasn't even home for two weeks. Then today they tell me I used 100,000 gallons of water this past month. They claim I have a leak or my water softner is on all the time. I've found no visible leaks and my water softner is not always on. Where the hell is this 150,000 gallons of water!? It's gotta be somewhere right? Now they tell me I need to get a plumber to look for leaks.

Oh and no, I do not operate an aquarium and my pool has been empty for nearly a year now.

:noclue:

Are you taking long hot baths several times a day?

Seeing as how i dont pay the water bill.. i dont have a huge concept of how much water a houseold uses in a month.. but those number seem high for even a household with 4 people in it...no?

wow..ya..hmm..thats just not right.

I'd so them for stress and aggravation and loss of sleep.

So they think you are using 3333.33333 gallons of water a day basically..in a 30 day month.

I mean....even if you had a leak..how would you not notice that.. this leak would have to be the size of like a running bathor something.

Where would all the water go.

our water softener was always on..as far as i know..and we barely saw a change in the price.. i think it was minimal..I know there was some difference cause when my uncle left...he was the one who needed the softener.... we finished up what we had and then got rid of it.

So im sure there was some extra cost.. but I know it was not significant..

Yah I mean if there is a leak fine, but where is the 150,000 gallons of water to show for it then? There are no green spots in my yard and I think I would have noticed 150,000 gallons of water inside my house by now.

To compare, I think an average inground pool holds 10,000 gallons.

Ya..well if ya didnt notice 150,000 gallons of water in your home.. it would certainly explain a lot of other unanswered questions i have about you :):D

yesterday i had to determine if I had been or when I will be alive for 1 Billion seconds... which is like im sure an 8th grade math problem... but i totally didnt think to use a calculator..so it took me like 5 minutes and 4 pieces of paper.

I mean I just havent done a math problem in sooo long.. other than everyday life stuff.. that it was like 4 stressful minutes of my life.

HAHA

and by 4 stressful minutes i mean 240 seconds :)

I know you're teasing...so umm what's the answer to my math problem? It should be an easy volume problem for you math types! :P

Just read your edit, I guess you would need to know that.

http://www.onlineconversion.com/volume.htm

1 cubic foot holds approx 7.5 gallons.

so would that be 120,000 gallons in your house approximately??

i dunno.. that is 2000 X 8 X 7.5?

I dunno.. thats probably wrong...

because to be honest.. i havent done area and volume since high school..and without looking it up first.. i will never know the formula :)

The reason I figure i must be missing a step..is because that seemed to easy and I would imagine you would have just done it yourself.

So, maybe its not length time width time height times 7.5?

Now i wanna know what it really is.

120,000 gallons is correct. I have a feeling a meter somewhere is busted. Or your house is going to collapse into a giant sinkhole in the near future.

127500 gallons of water.

Now I have to pee :(

OK, so the volume of my entire house probably (garage wasn't included in that calculation) can't even hold 150,000 gallons! I've poked around in my yard at random spots and the soil doesn't seem any more moist in one area than another.

Thanks for the help!

HAHAHA

Well...on the bright side....

if you ever decide to turn your house into an aquariam..you already have the approximate numbers

Yes, it seems I do but my township seems to think I have the water to do it too! :doh1:

ya well...maybe they will realize how dumb they are..eventually.

I mean there are some things that jsut make no sense.. they cant possibly think that makes sense.

Like this....

we were asked to turn our computers off for something...around 11am the other day...and then we never got any announcement that we could use them again... The next day I came in and asked if we were allowed to use our computers yet..and the lady said to me,....yes i sent an email..didnt you get it?

WOW... i mean.. i didnt know if it was appropriate to laugh in her face.. so I calmly told her...well NO i didnt because my computer was off.

And just said thanks and walked away..before I told her to buy a shirt that said Stupid on it

I would have laughed, or at least smiled and said "Do your realize what you just said?". Then I would have proceeded to send it in to Readers Digest and made $20 or whatever.

EDIT: Bah, this is the least of my problems!

Sammy...a business would be using a lot 150,000 gal...I use 3500 gal a month...make them change your meter...if this proves to be the problem they must rectify the billing and not charge you for all that water...this is rotten news...put the onus on the water company...post how you fare...ok?
