This team is horrible to watch and it is time to let the Pens grab the Division title and face the Sens in the first round.

You know, I can really see why the negativity around here drives so many good posters away.

That was a MUCH better game by the Devils and I think that if they had any one of Madden, Elias or Gionta in the lineup there would have been a different story. They just had some bad bounces.

Ya know, I'm not really in the mood to read defeatist sh!t like this. Don't be so fvcking fairweather. It makes you sound incredibly stupid. On a side note, this team couldn't score in a $2 whore-house with a pocket full of $50's, and I'm fvcking sick of it.

That is just frustration and usually I did that all the time.

I'm with ya Don. This game has put me in an incredibly foul mood, and I'm in no mood for the game-to-game attitude people tend to have. We win, we're great. We lose, we're horrible and should forfeit the rest of the season. fvck that attitude- it's for losers. Some people have no forsight whatsoever.

I love how fifteen guys hit posts and Gomez is the only one that gets ragged on. A puck rolls off your stick, there's nothing you can do about it. I hope all of you that are ragging on him now don't turn around and kiss his fanny if he does decide to come back.

That stat Z-man posted earlier was telling about the team career goals barely surpassing Sundin and O'Neill's totals, I'm surprised our number was that high to be honest.

I hope all the minutes the top defensemen have played throughout the season isn't coming back to haunt them now.

Two points up with nine to play...still they have to be very careful with these Elias and Madden injuries. Seed or not the only chance this team has in the playoffs is to have a healthy roster and also have the Elias line play well. Problem is time is running out for the Elias line to get going, Elias might be out another game or two and Gionta'll be out another few.

This was an eminently winnable game, and a game that the Devils will usually win - they hit 3 posts and outplayed the Leafs for a good portion of the game. That Sundin-Ponikarovsky-Antropov line is impossible for our midget D to stop - we were lucky to hold them to only 2 goals - but the rest of the Leafs, we did a fairly good job of containing.

Gomez deserves scorn for this game - not for the miss of the empty net, which is perfectly excusable (he didn't have much to shoot at - it was hardly empty) but for his lackidaisical backcheck on the 2nd goal, where he loafed around the offensive zone.

They always say Brian Rafalski has a deflectable shot - well, Paul Martin has the perfect blockable shot. It drives me nuts that they still can't find a guy to shoot from the point - Oduya has a cannon but he can't hit the net to save his life - it makes defending against the Devils pretty easy.

I don't think it's panic time - this was a very well played game, just one where we didn't catch the breaks. We keep playing like this, we'll be fine.

btw, I enjoyed Tucker's faking an injury until he realized no one was buying. Looks like Darcy watched the Italian team this summer in the World Cup.

I caught the second half of the game. I wish Gomez seemed frustrated after he missed stuff. A slammed stick, something. I don't know. I didn't like his backchecking ont he Antropov goal. That was his man.

But I am not going to harp on Gomer too much tonight. The team played better.

Clarkson = sign me up. We found a new number 27.

As for Elias and Madden, no need to rush them back. Who cares if we lost the division or drop home ice, better to be healthy.

Elias-Gomez-Gionta/Langenbrunner

Clarkson-Zajac-Parise

Pando-Madden-Langenbrunner/Gionta

Rupp-Brylin-Dowd/Rupp/Cam

Pelley

THat's a good playoff lineup.

I agree 100%. If one of those posts went into the net and they won in a shootout, it would have been a completely different attitude on here right now. Instead, the good game that they played gets completely overlooked. The team was not horrible to watch tonight at all, the posts and missed shots were frustrating, but they played well, which is a great improvement over the last game.

Man the Devils cant get any love even when they play a decent game. I'm not sure what beef people have with Gomez or the rest of the team from todays game but the Devils played solid tonight. If any team should get ripped tonight its the Leafs. How their fans have any hope of making the playoffs is beyond me. The Leafs had a sh*t load of trouble with a Devils team playing without three of their top forwards and skating one man short for nearly half the game.

Still though this is a tough loss. Hard to get upset with the guys though because they played their asses off. The injuries are just killing us right now. Whats sad is that the Devils had so many things going for them and then the injuries hit the team hard.

Its hard not to be down after this loss but if the Devils continue to work hard things will turn around. Tonight is definitely a game the Devils can build off of.

This was a very lucky game win by the Laffs. Raycroft was very lucky this game was not 4-1 or even 5-1 in favor of the Devils. Three post shots and a crossbar gave the win to the Laffs. This Devils team cannot score goals right now especially only one (Parise, Zajac, Langenbrunner) line doing ALL scoring right now. This team is missing Madden for his defense and some offense without Elias and Gionta.

Gomez is a friggin' joke! he cannot even put a puck away on an empty net for pete's sake! :argh: You think Gomez would step his game up and show some more out on that ice with Elias and Gionta out of the line up. Nope. Gomez needs to take his stick out of his ass and use it on the ice.

The Devils PP is just down right awlful. :puke: They are 1 for their last 26 now on the PP. I really feel bad for Brodeur who appears to lose a lot of games lately due to lack of scoring. Many of us here thought this would be the year for Brodeur to be Parent's record of 47 wins. Well Brodeur is still stuck at 42 and the way the Devils are really slumping now 47 or 48 wins look not to good for Brodeur. :saddevil: This Devils team needs some points and they blew 2 points tonight to a terrible team that is not going to make the playoffs.

Pittsburgh has the Islanders on Thursday and the Devils have Tampa Bay. The division could be tied by the end of Thursday night if the Devils do not wake up. Tampa Bay is far better than Toronto and not having Madden on Tampa Bay's top line could be a problem. Devils need to dig deep for a win in Tampa Bay on Thursday if they want to maintain the division lead. Hopefully the Islanders can win over Pittsburgh. Devils always have to make things difficult for themselves once again year in and year out.

Just really lost here on this Devils team and the direction they are going which is SOUTH! They need to pick their game up and try to have a winning streak like last seasons end. So far it has been the opposite.

I don't think it matters about the division. It really doesn't. Just play good hockey is all I ask. PLay hard and give it their all, and whatever happens will happen. That's all I can ask. Win or lose.

They played a pretty good game tonight. I just wish Gomez would take the offense on his back and skate through checks, create stuff down low, and back check hard. I'm a broken record, but he's just so good. I wish he would play to form. It's sad.
