PaDevsFan
Was that a high stick when the Sabre player blocked the point shot?Edit: Nevermind, the replay shows it wasn't.

NJDevs4978
Were you expecting the Devils to win the last 11 games of the season again? Every team in the league has losses this time of year. Edited March 29, 2007 by Hasan4978
Triumph
A back to back in Buffalo - good time to bet against New Jersey. Brodeur never came up with a big save and we lost - not going to cry about this one.
SatansDevils
Well congrats to the Sabres for winning the game and most likely the #1 seed. Well deserved. The Devils played a pretty good game but man that third period the Devils did NOTHING the first 12 minutes of the 3rd period! It costed them the game and made Brodeur look pretty bad on two of the three goals. Brodeur had no defense on those goals and two of them he should have saved. The nightmare road trip is now over after going 2-3 on the 5 game road trip. Good to see the Devils come home and try to snap their 5 game losing streak on home ice Friday night vs. the Flyers. It will be tough now for Brodeur to get the wins record with 5 games to go and has to win 4 of them. Nice goal by Martin and Zach getting goal #31 of the season. A little too late in the period to try to get things going when they wasted half of the period with no offense. Maybe Boston will do the Devils a big favor and WIN tomorrow night over the Penguins in Boston. I doubt it but ya never know. Pittsburgh will be hungry to finally take over the division from the Devils. it is going to be a rce until the final day of the season to see who will win the division. Just disgusted right now. Anhkheg
To be honest, I prefer this team going into the playoffs as the underdogs. I cant say for sure, but I feel they play better being underdogs. Secondly, Elias being injured might be a blessing in disguise. He plays alot better when he comes back from an injury because he has a renewed focus and a lot of jump in his game. This is also coming towards the end of the season and hopefully will carry out throughout the playoffs.
Sickman
It's games like this that frustrate the sh*t out of me. All it took was a sloppy twenty minutes and a game that the Devils should have won turned into a complete sh*t show in the third period. Some really ugly plays by Oduya, White and Rafalski combined with Marty's inability to make at least one big save in the third has left the Devils with a real tough battle on their hands to win the Atlantic. Eh whatever. You can't win them all I guess but I'm just super pissed with the stupid mistakes this team made in the third period. Chico and all the other "experts" will go on and on about the Sabres skill but that does not mask the fact that they were outplayed for the majority of this game. All in all one thing is for sure, the Devils can run with these guys. The difference between the two teams right now is that the Sabres bury their fvcking chances while the Devils continue to show hands of stone. But aside from that I like the Devils chances against these guys in the playoffs. Not to take anything away from the Sabres, they are a very dangerous team for sure, but I'm not really sure why they are put up on such a high pedestal. centralnj
Yeah right! You can forget that one with only 5 games to go and he is so close to wins record(3 to tie and 4 for the record). Brodeur is going to play all 5 games left which will tie Fuhr with 79 games played.
SatansDevils
I know, and I would love to see Marty break Parent's record, but being fresh for the playoffs is more important.

MadDog2020
Just look at Carolina, losing 4-1 to the Flyers And the game meant a heckuva lot more than them since they're not IN the playoffs yet.I don't find losing to the top team in the East on the road on the second night of a back-to-back 'unacceptable' but whatever. They still control their destiny with five games left.
SlapShot1545
At the very least... it's nice to see Gomez scoring again.
NJDevs4978
Agreed. But we all know Marty will play the 5 remaining games of the season. It is up to Brodeur if he wants to shut it down for a game. I don't see it with him being so close to the record. Luongo too. Sickman
The Devils were in the second game of a back to back. Chico and Mike said it's a 'fallacy' that teams struggle with these games, and then the Devils let up 3 goals in the 3rd. It's going to happen. To outplay the Sabres tonight after they'd been called out by their coach and had 3 days to rest would've been a minor miracle.FWIW, the Sabres still played pretty poor on defense and we played pretty good. That Teppo Numminen is going to be exposed in the playoffs - he was terrible tonight. Edited March 29, 2007 by SickMan
Satans Hockey
The Flyers have been playing a lot better with Biron in net though so that game isn't going to be easy.

Devilsdude530
I saw only the third, but we were better in that period, I know it. Great fvcking move by Briere and a couple that, if Marty's rested, he probably gets to. Can't blame them for playing him, but couldn't we have let him sit against the Isles?
