puckrock
Eh I wouldn't really put too much thought into it right now. It's still the off-season and training camp hasn't even started yet. Considering this is the New Jersey Devils we're talking about -- until training camp, I think the only one with a secured roster spot is #30. thefiestygoat
Wait till training camp. Looking on the roster online is just looking into things way too much when it comes to personnel moves.

Aquarius09
He will be back in no time. He was listed under #22, but thats now Asham's number. Guessing he will be #27, Pelley if called up might be #12 and Tallackson if called up will be #23 now that Gomess is gone.
Weekes Head
Like I said in a previous thread, it almost feels like the New Jersey Devils website webmaster has surpassed the CAA Security Guard in the ins and outs of Devils knowledge... Devs4LIFE
Yeah I don't think this is anything to worry about as said before. Worst comes to worst he stays in Lowell for another year and improves. And in response to Aqua, I don't think Clarkson is going to be getting # 27, if you looked at the roster while Clarkson was still on there they switched his number to 22. So maybe just maybe if Nieds calls it quits....we might be retiring the # 27 sweater? Edited August 13, 2007 by Devs4LIFE

msweet
Like I said in a previous thread, it almost feels like the New Jersey Devils website webmaster has surpassed the CAA Security Guard in the ins and outs of Devils knowledge... I understand your point, but I have spoken personally with the Devil's webmaster and Greg (that's his name), does what upper management tells him. They give daily roster change orders... he just puts them up. My guess is Clarkson is off the roster because of Cap issues.... he can begin the season at Lowell if necessary... and his spot on the team is not guaranteed. halfsharkalligatorhalfman
he has to earn his spot in training camp it won't be given to him.
Triumph
cap issues, msweet? The Devils are nowhere near the salary cap.
DevilMinder
I suck at the CBA, but isn't there a banking kind of system. Like you can be over for a certain time if your average cap is still below the limit? Maybe Lou is banking some cap room for late season additions. Devils731
Yes, but that doesn't mean anything in the summer. The cap only begins to take effect during the season.

msweet
cap issues, msweet? The Devils are nowhere near the salary cap. I'm guessing Lou has taken him off for 2 reasons.... One to make him "make" the team and two, not to begin the season with any players up who might be down.
devils26
Maybe Lou just keeps changing the roster around to give some of the younger guys the feeling that they need to earn their spot in camp. I really cannot think of any other explanation for the somewhat often changes in the roster.
CRASHER
maybe it's so he doesn't lose a send to the minors option for Clarkson on the unlikely case he does NOT make the team out of training camp?? there's always some unknown foresight in Lou's ways! bostondevil11
I thought they did it just so we would have something to talk about in the middle of Aug?
