Speedy G
Jesse Boulerice is the same guy who invented the Chris Simon tomahawk swing - he ended Andrew Long's career in the AHL.
BlueSkirt
Holy Crap! A 7-2 game, nowhere near the play or puck, and a head shot like that ? If it were my decision it would be 20 games. The pansy NHL ruling will likely be 10 games. If you really want to stop this kind of stuff you have to hand out draconian punishments. First the player who did it will likely not re-offend And the hope is that eventually the price of such a hit will creep into the players heads so they know that they will forfeit a quarter of their season & salary if they do it. Devil Fan
I'll give him 25. That sends a message to all the goons of the NHL.
Don
There was an Ontario election yesterday. This didn't make the front page in Toronto. I say 4 games.
thefiestygoat
I never knew about his OHL cheap shot. This guy is a real jerk, hopefully he doesn't pull this stuff out against anyone else, especially the Devils. Here is a good video involving Boulerice:
stevestevens
How could anyone justify that as a clean hit. Pretty much, the guy took his stick, leveled it out and hit the guy in the face. Its completly illegal and is deemable a supsension of 10ish games.
DevilNurn
That's just an ugly shot. I'm shocked there was no (visible) blood when he got up. I'd say 10-15 games for that... But the end of that video made me laugh. I mean, he hits Sanford and then its just a huge mess...

Its funny you say that, on the Cryers board they wont go so far as to say it was clean, but they are praising the guy for bringing back the way "the Flyers of old" played. They are talking like better crapping on somone else than being crapped on like last season. total class act those Cryers fans
maltieri
On the XM radio Center Ice program today they were talking about (suggesting even?..?) that since this is the second Flyer to have this kind of issue this year that maybe the coach and or the team has to take responsibility when stuff like this happens. devilsfan26
Suspend the whole friggin team for the rest of the season. Prevent the cheapshots before they happen.

threestars
I dunno BlueSkirt.....if it comes up that the team is kinda harbouring this kinda thing then I think the NHLPA would back that kinda ruling.
nmadd
It looked like he was trying to break his stick on Kesler's face. Then he almost had his gloves off half-way through the check. I'm guessing 10 games as well. Way to go buddy.

'7'
Well, Bettman gets what he wants now. Less fighting, more murderous cheap shots. In the past, incidents got settled with fights, line brawls, and the occasional bench clearer. Now we get this.

Deek_1969
I very much dislike the Flyers...their entire organization and every last one of their fans!!! That guy is a dirtbag and that was a nasty cheap shot!!! Suspension....oh hell yeah. A cross check to the face should get him 10 games. Man it is a rough enough game without having to go high on someone.
'7'
just read everything the way you want to see itremember when dino ciccarelli settled things with luke richardson that was a love tap compared to some of the things we've seen recently. And it was triggered moreso by off ice incidents.

Triumph
After reading a page full of "The Flyers are thugs" responses "7" GETS ITS.What Boulerice did was STUPID, but what people didn't see was Kesler taking a charging run at one of our D men seconds before the cross-check. Boulerice was defending his skilled teammate (his job). He choose a stupid way of doing it but in this league fighting is discouraged. In the past guys like Kesler would think twice about running a guy knowing he'd have to answer the bell. But now he hides behind his shield and the sissy instigator rule. Eztarget
Dude get it right, as you say in yrs past a pansy like Boulerice would get his arse kicked by a guy like Schultz or Brown for being a pansy and using the stick. you know what he charged Jones I beleive??? Ok and that calls for a STICK TO THE HEAD?? If he wanted to make a statement grab the guy even if he doesnt want to fight back and pummel him. Thats what needed to be done. AKA when McKenzie pummelled a TURTLING DOMI for Domi's elbow on Neids the previous playoff season. I mean Domi didnt want to go, McKenzie didnt care and kept hitting him as he was on the ice as well. And McKenzie didnt get suspended either. Like it or not there is no defense for what that piece of crap did the other night PERIOD!! Coming from a guy who I have heard in the past call Stevens dirty?? Dont even try to defend that act!

Devilish34
25 games "as per" XM 204 link on NHL.COM The Flyers, once known as the Broad Street Bullies, have quickly established an unwanted identity as a team full of out-of-control goons.
