I approve of where this thread has gone in recent posts, and while I love and respect the bagpipes in It's A Long Way To The Top, I must contend that the best bagpipe solo is found in The Church's "Under The Milky Way". It comes from out of nowhere yet still fits an astonishingly beautiful song...well, beautifully.

And since I'm here, whythefvcknot:

1. From Autumn To Ashes - Short Stories With Tragic Endings

2. She Wants Revenge - Tear You Apart

3. Semi Precious Weapons - Semi Precious Weapons (HIGHLY recommend if you like Rolling Stones, Jet type glam rock. Or even if you don't, I swear.)

4. Our Lady Peace - Do You Like It

5. Save Ferris - I Know

6. Boy Hits Car - I'm A Cloud

7. Coldplay - Yes

8. Ministry - NCIS Theme Remix

9. Pearl Jam - Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town

10. The Presidents of the United States of America - Kitty

11. Coldplay - Everything's Not Lost

12. Bloc Party - Mercury

13. Muse - Knights of Cydonia

14. The Vandals - I Saw Her In A Mustang

15. Manic Street Preachers - You Stole The Sun From My Heart

16. Cibo Matto - Sugar Water

17. Dogs Die In Hot Cars - Godhopping (gotta love a band who's name doubles as a Public Service Announcement)

18. The Friendly Indians - Not From Arizona

19. Bob Dylan - Maggie's Farm

20. Jet Pack - Don't Speak (No Doubt cover)

If anyone's got that same late-90s alterna-rock obsession that I do, I highly recommend the band Deaf Pedestrians (they insist on spelling it dEAf PEdESTRIANS apparently, but I ain't taking the time to do that every time I talk about them). The song Mrs. Mantis sounds like it came out of the same time span that bred Eve 6 and Lit and bands like that.

And now for something completely...exactly the same:

1. He Is Legend - Fancy (Reba MacEntire cover)

2. Angry Salad - Dance

3. Better Than Ezra - Desperately Wanting

4. The Soft Pack - Down On Loving

5. Interpol - Slow Hands

6. REM - The Great Beyond

7. Glassjaw - Radio Cambodia

8. Bob Dylan - My Back Pages

9. Raine Maida - One Second Chance

10. Black Ghosts - Any Way You Choose To Give It

11. Eve 6 (as Eleventeen) - Fooling Yourself

12. Hot Chip - The Warning

13. Dave Brockie Experience - Damn That Money

14. BT f/ M. Doughty - Never Gonna Come Back Down

15. Puscifer - REV 22:20

16. The Friendly Indians - Just This Side Of Insincere

17. Eve 6 - How Much Longer

18. Klaxons - No Diggity (Blackstreet cover)

19. Oasis - Cast No Shadow

20. The Strokes - Heart In A Cage

Wow, massive feeling of "which of these things is not like the other" with your list...where the hell did VIBROLUSH come from?! Haha. Great band, but nothing even remotely like anything else you just listed.

Haha that's the only song by them I've ever heard of. It was on some X-Games CD my mom got me when I was in middle school. Probably the only time Sugar Ray and Wu Tang Clan were on the same CD.

Depends on your definition of old. I certainly feel old after this weekend. I'm sitting in my chair trying to move as little as possible, as any movement beyond my fingers hurts like hell.

However, my musical preferences are usually fairly modern. Or at least, fairly 90s. Which isn't that old yet.

1. Alice In Chains - Man In The Box

2. Eve 6 (as Eleventeen) - #1

3. Gogol Bordello - Oh No

4. Dropkick Murphys - Barroom Hero

5. Metric - Don't Think Twice, It's Alright (Bob Dylan cover)

6. Our Lady Peace - Clumsy

7. La Roux - In For The Kill (Skream's Let's Get Ravey remix)

8. Chris Cornell - Billie Jean (Michael Jackson cover)

9. Hootie & The Blowfish - Only Wanna Be With You

10. Live - I Walk The Line (Johnny Cash cover)

11. Company Of Thieves - In Passing

12. Ours - Black

13. Third Eye Blind - Anything

14. Bob Dylan - Things Have Changed

15. M83 - Kim & Jessie

16. Dovetail Joint - Level On The Inside

17. Tonic - Open Up Your Eyes

18. Bloc Party - She's Hearing Voices

19. Phoenix - Lisztomania

20. The Dodos - Horny Hippies

Forty is fast approaching, thelastonealive! My tastes definitely lie in 1970s and 1980s R&B and blues rock, as my iPod lists give away.

Alright, so I'm 10 years behind ya, 30's fast approaching for me. It's kind of funny how we all kind of gravitate to the music of our formative years though - you're approaching 40 and lean towards music of the 70s and 80s, I'm approaching 30 and lean towards the music of the 80s and 90s. Guess it's true, the best music is made when you're a teenager.
