SatansDevils
Saw that one too and thought of this thread. It was a nice try by Clarkson.
devils26
He hasn't been trying wraparounds as much, so they are more successful because the other teams does not expect them. Most of his time is now filled by attempting toe drags that never work.
Devils731
Maybe we should start a counter for how many times Clarkson holds onto the puck when he should have passed or dumped it in

Cowutopia
or dumps the puck in from his own blueline. There are a ton of fun things we could keep track of: Missed shots by the defense Missed shots by the whole team/Elias/Zajac Missed checks by VV Times Oduya falls down/gives up a breakaway Shots from the blue line by Gionta. Times Clarkson cheats up ice. Offensive zone penalties by Gionta. Giveaways/interceptions. OH: The biggest stat of all against Washington: FAILED fvckING CLEARS. Did anyone else notice that? That has been happening a lot this season. The defense can't get it out of their own zone especially when Rachunek and Vishnevski was in the line up. Yesterday it was Mottau, Brookbank, White and Martin. The defense has been up and down this season and that is what scares me when they enter the playoffs. A good team might just expose the Devils young defenseman. Really need a veteran Dman on this team besides White. Devs4LIFE
We really should collect all of Brodeur's highlight saves each season and put together a montage at the end of the season.
daneyko_booster
Tried and failed at around 0:30 of the first period.
daneyko_booster
Another one @ around 5:00 into the second, this time he failed (but you just knew he was going to do it, holding the puck back there , but Brylin picked up the rebound and scored, nice! edit: Actually, goal called back, darnit. NJDevs26
Which one of you wiseguys was it that asked the question of Chico and Steve during the intermission about Clarkson only having two moves? It's so true though, anyone can see that, although Steve rightfully added that he has a third; the right hook Edited March 22, 2008 by NJDevs26
Devils731
I wish Clarkson would add these 2 moves to his repetoire: Pass Dump puck into corner

daneyko_booster
New season, new futile wraparound attempts to count! Didn't have to wait long this year, we got one in game 1 against the Islanders at 14:50 of the 1st period. Failed, of course.
HockeyR53
As soon as I saw him behind the net I knew he was going to try it. That is a bad thing.
Cowutopia
1 for the new year. I restarted the count in post 1. Edited October 13, 2008 by Cowutopia

Didn't have to wait long this year, we got one in game 1 against the Islanders at 14:50 of the 1st period. Failed, of course. Was this the one where Madden was wide open in the slot? Cause I saw him behind the net, and you just knew it was 'heads-down wrap around' time.
theamazingtiny
Sad thing is in the islanders game I thought he was gonna score on it. They goalie looked clueless.
Devs4LIFE
I think I'm the only one who doesn't completely hate on the patented Clarkson wrap around.
Devil Dan 56
I think I'm the only one who doesn't completely hate on the patented Clarkson wrap around. I don't hate it. It does work at times, but he just needs to pick his head up. At times, there is someone wide open in front. Haha, then again, Parise scored his first goal of the pre-season this year because Clarkson tried the wraparound and it went through the crease right to Parise's stick. Devs4LIFE
Someone should read through this thread and count all of his wrap around attempts so that we can have an official number...shot not.
Devils731
I was really bagging on Clarkson second half of last season and going into this season...and the pre-season, but he's played decently well, especially the last 2 games.
