puckrock
This has gone on way too long, and now I've reached my bursting point. Let's backtrack: I was a full-season ticket holder for the Devils final season in CAA - only one season ago. I had two seats, paid the amount with my Debit card, and got my tix in the mail. I didn't miss a home game all year long, including pre-season and playoffs, and I live on Long Island. Life was grand. Ok, so the season comes to an end. I realize that I won't be renewing my season seats in Prudential Center, and call the Devils and ask for them to refund me the credit that I still had on my account. (I purchased the playoff strips as well.) I had a credit of $156.00. Ok, not a lot of money to some of you, but to a 22 year old guy trying to support himself on LONG ISLAND, that's a lot of dough. Moving on. I asked how I would go about getting a refund. The rep told me that the money would be refunded the exact way it was paid for (back to my Debit Card). Well, I told him that I would like to have a check sent to me in my name for that amount instead because I had since closed the checking account that the debit card was linked to. He said no problem, just fax it over in writing that that's the way you want it done. I did. FOUR TIMES. A month goes by, and I haven't seen my refund yet. So I call up and ask wtf's up. They said that it was sent back to Debit card. Un fvcking real. The New Jersey Devils customer service department refunded money to me to a CLOSED bank account after I told them FOUR times NOT TO DO SO. Arguments burst. Threats ensue. So on and so forth. Bottom line, they keep telling me that it's my problem and that I have to take it up with my financial institution. Ok, so lemme get this straight.. the DEVILS fvcked up royally.. totally went against what I had asked, and now its MY problem?!?!? W-T-F?! After 9 phone calls to 1-800-NJDEVIL and 2 phone calls to Jeff Vanderbeek himself, I have been ignored each time. Every time they tell me someone will get back to me regarding the issue, yet days/weeks/now months pass and no one gets back to me. I'm almost ready to give up on this but I want my damn money back. I even told them I would settle for 2 tickets to a game of equal value, and yet it falls on deaf ears. I am so sick to my stomach over the whole matter that I don't even want to go to games anymore or at least until this is patched up. Does anyway know how I could get in touch with Jeff Vanderbeek via e-mail? I need to speak to this guy ASAP about the circus he calls the customer service department. Ugh. DaneykoIsGod
Unfortunately I don't have any answers to any of your questions. I just wanted to say ... 22-years old and you had season tickets? You're my freakin hero! Seriously though, best of luck getting all of this resolved.
SatansDevils
Time to threaten the Devils with a lawyer and see where that goes. Maybe your lawyer (if you have one) can help you. I have seen this done before and when they hear the word "lawyers" they seem to pay attention. As far as emailing Jeff Vanderbeek, I am sure he has someone read them first before he does and it could still fall on deaf ears. Best bet if you want to see Jeff at the games and tell him then. I would go with the lawyers first.

In a nutshell: Did you contact your bank? I had money credited to a credit card once that I had since closed. The credit card company sent me a check for it. I am sure the bank would do the same? El Diablo
I hate it when the system breaks down... try the suggested above and If all else fails - handwritten note to Mr Lou Lams should do the trick... he reads all such mail. but dude keep going to the games for God's sake .. have you lost your mind? puckrock
Well, after six long months, I've finally got this issue resolved. I was able to speak to Frank Calandrillo - who, after a quick flip through my Center Ice program - I found is the Manager of Ticket Services. He basically cut me a deal and gave me his personal tickets for this coming Friday against the Caps. I'm grateful, but part of me hopes the tix are at least an equal value to the amount of money that they robbed me of. If they're in the balcony sections, I'll be pissed - considering those tix are discounted at $32 for that game. Is that selfish of me? Oh well, I guess I'll be grateful - free tix are free tix. Masked Fan
I think your resolution, while a stand up thing for Calandrillo to do on a personal level, is crap. His EMPLOYER should be puttin up the tiks, and they should be up in a box with Lou and Jeff!!!! Now THAT would be good PR! Can you imagine the goodwill there!? What would you tell people about the EXCELLENCE of customer service from the Devils if that were to happen??!!?!!?!! They really dropped the ball on this one. They shoulda refunded your $$ AND thrown in a pair of seats for the aggravation/sh!tty service! Given the access, that those in power with the Devils have, to get tickets at the drop of a hat, I really feel two tickets is disgraceful. (again though, koodos to Calandrillo for frontin his own seats, good man, bad job from the PR Dept.) hopefully you call the bank yer Debit was with and see if they do, indeed, have yer $$. Then get both!
