njdevil26
Okay, 20 minutes of hockey in the books. Let's see if the boys want to go balls deep for the next 20.
thefiestygoat
Awesome first period for the Devils! They were pumped up, hitting, being aggressive offensively, solid defensively. They need to keep that up to beat the Rangers in the playoffs. They can't stop now. The first power play they moved the puck really well, the second wasn't that good. Lets Go Devils! Sickman
WOW!!!! Aside from a couple breakdowns on D that was one of the best periods of hockey the Devils have played in some time. So this is what an offense looks like? They actually didn't even score on their better chances which is not really a bad thing at all because it means that they are finally getting some bounces and they're still creating opportunities. Gotta hit em hard and play up tempo. The Rangers couldn't handle the strong forecheck, at least for that period.

thefiestygoat
Bad start for the Devils in the 2nd period. They need to come back strong, with hitting and aggressive play. They can't let this goal get to them.

devils26
That one's on Paul Martin. He left his man to step up on a Ranger in the high slot (the man was already covered), and the puck went to Martin's original man who had a wide open shot. eaglejelly
The Devils better score soon, they are starting to fall apart again
devils26
We have been incredibly sloppy in the neutral zone this period. All of those turnovers are causing this change in momentum, because it leads to numerous odd man rushes for the Rags and none for the Devils. brodeurrocks
We might be seeing the Devils set a record for offside calls in one game here today. Edited April 6, 2008 by brodeurrocks
