stevestevens
Naslund might work well in the system if he gets 2 seasons. Demitra is a good option also. Langkow would also be a good fit. nmigliore
Im sorry but Jay Pando/Sarge nee to be left alone (meaning not signed).. Pando had a great year even though it was injury shortened, but we NEED more offense.. Pando isn't gonna get that many goals next year, i dont care what anyone says. And if anyone wants to biatch that hes great defensively than do so, i could care less.. its time to switch to offense from defense with this team and let go of the past.. Sarge did NOTHING this year.. Pando/Madden is not gonna be a good line for offense again next year, i just know it.. they are getting older.. For UFA, i think its MUST this team goes for LAngkow.. Lou would be a complete idiot to not go for him since we lack a playmaker (besides Elias, who isn't as good as Langkow IMO).. Hossa is another one this team should go after - let Pandolfo go to UFA and then pick up Hossa, definitely an upgrade to the offense. By then we may only have $1 mil in cap space left so maybe look to make some trades for better d-men.. i can see White as being very good trade bait

thelastonealive
How does Sarge's option work? I know it's a player option, is it entirely his choice? I'd hate to see him anywhere else, but part of the reason that he didn't do anything all year is because he spent most of it playing with Arron Asham and Mike Rupp. And those saying we need to ditch Pando are nuts. We're in a division with Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Daniel Briere, Scott Gomez...we're in a conference with Alex Ovechkin, Vinny Lecavlier, Danial Alfredsson, et al...you can't underestimate what he and Madden do for us against these types of players. If we're getting rid of Pando, you sure as hell can't let him go for nothing. I submit that that would be stupider than letting Gomez, Rafalski, and Neidermeyer get away for nothing. DevilNurn
Demitra and Rolston from Minny sound really good to me, just what our offense needs. njdss4
Defense: Jason Smith, Brian Campbell, Bryce Salvador (resign), Karel Rachunek OR Mike Mottau (resign), maybe we could even get Oleg Tverdovsky to come back to the NHL and play for the Devils again for cheaper than his last contract. He'd be a great D-man to quarterback a PP and he's only 31. If Tverdovsky would come back then forget even thinking about re-signing Rachunek/Mottau. Trade Colin White. Do whatever it takes to get him to waive his NTC and lift this burden from the team. And don't, for the love of god, re-sign Brookbank. What a bust. I had such high hopes for him, too. Offense: Vaclav Prospal, Jason Williams, Daymond Langkow, maybe Brian Rolston. Trade Zajac for draft picks to make room for them all and give us better choices during this year's draft. Resign Pandolfo for the checking line, and maybe re-sign Brylin if he will take a pay cut.
ZuljinRaynor
You know, if we did somehow sign Sean Avery, though that would mean apocalypse, imagine him and Broduer on the same team? That's something I can't even being to see. But yeah, don't want Avery. Personally I liked Campbell and maybe having to get Salvador back. I wouldn't mind seeing Mottau back, and Pando if we do not overpay him at bit. Sarge... he's gotta hang up the skates and stick. He's got heart and only decent checking power right now. I'd like to see Malone too. Hossa is a dream, but Langkow I'd like too.

I would be in favour of going after Hossa, but I don't see it happening. Hossa and Redden will likely be getting $10M in their first year (upwards of $8M/yr contracts) and NJ can't match that. Revan
You know, if we did somehow sign Sean Avery, though that would mean apocalypse, imagine him and Broduer on the same team? That's something I can't even being to see. But yeah, don't want Avery. Haha, Marty would cut his head off in the first game. Hurting your own team's player is not a penalty, so... And yeah, imagine all those fans at the Rock giving Avery a big FU and chant GTFO. Good thing I'm never going to see Avery in a Devils uniform, that would be a disgrace When it comes to the UFAs, I think we really need to bring someone HUGE. Some would complain about overpaying the players, but that's the reality nowadays and if we don't pay big money to guys like Campbell or Hossa, we will end up signing players like Rachunek again. Although there are still some decent cheaper guys, like Liles. Zubrus was also quite a nice deal last year. Hossa + Liles + Smith OR Campbell + Smith + Rolston (?) Either way, I want to see at least one big name in a Devils jersey this July and that means we have to offer someone a 7M or more deal. zachattack9
According to an article in the Bergen record today Lou said he wants to resign Pandolfo. Also they have signed Mike Swift. "The Devils reportedly have signed undrafted free agent center Mike Swift. The 5-foot-9, 165-pound Swift posted 38 goals and 110 points this season for the Niagara Ice Dogs of the Ontario League, where he was teammates with Devils' 2006 first-round pick Matt Corrente. Swift, 21, added nine goals and 18 points in 10 playoff games" Devils' GM says Pieces are There
