yankeesjetsfan
It was to be expected. I'd be surprised if anyone other than Ovechkin wins the award.
Jas0nMacIsaac
Brodeur had a shot till the late season collapse by the Devils. Had they finished first in the conference he would have gotten consideration.

NJDevsFireOnIce
All good choices agreed. Alex for the hart!
Ivan
Ovie is basically a lock, there is no doubt that he 100% deserves the Hart. If thats not an MVP season, then i dunno what is. Malkin, gave AO a run there for a bit by having a monster season and basically carrying the Crosbyless Penns to the top. No surprise to see Marty absent on here. He was a big reason why our mediocre team finished as high as it did and he is most def our team MVP, but really not enough to build the case for Hart. Vinnie
Brodeur had a shot till the late season collapse by the Devils. Had they finished first in the conference he would have gotten consideration. The fact that a team with a half-AHL defence and one of the worst offences in the league was even close to winning the conference should have been enough to make him a finalist. SatansDevils
Iginlia? Sorry NO WAY! Ovechkin wins the hart for sure now. Brodeur was snubbed again here. Reall BS if you ask me. God forbid a goalie wins the Hart in this new NHL. Just a joke if you ask me. Brodeur deserves to be nominated at least over Iginlia. Some where even going to vote for Brodeur here. What a crock. DevilNurn
Then hopefully Vezina. But seriously, is there anyone who thinks anyone but Ovechkin had a chance?
Triumph
The fact that a team with a half-AHL defence and one of the worst offences in the league was even close to winning the conference should have been enough to make him a finalist. A goalie should win the Hart every year. They're never to give Brodeur the Hart.
DevilinLA
Then hopefully Vezina. But seriously, is there anyone who thinks anyone but Ovechkin had a chance? Agreed. There are lots of deserving players in the NHL. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I can't go as far as to say this was a legitimate snub. We all know the NHL is trying to reward flashy goal scoring.

Deek_1969
It was to be expected. I'd be surprised if anyone other than Ovechkin wins the award. AO deserves the award hands down. Marty played well, but so did Nabokov. Very similar numbers this year, but noone came close scoring as many goals as AO. It has been since Super Mario in 95-96 since anyone has scored 65+ goals. He should get it for that accomplishment alone.
MantaRay
Brodeur was the main reason we finished as high as we did in the standings, but playing so much during the year produced a "mentally tired" goalie for when it counts. You can include Nabakov in this category as well. Its too bad, because the trophy is for the regular season and Marty deserves it.
brodeurrocks
Brodeur had a shot till the late season collapse by the Devils. Had they finished first in the conference he would have gotten consideration. Spot on. I have no problem with the nominees.
stevestevens
A goalie will never win this in the modern NHL. Besides for the awards on points, there isnt an MVP award for an offensive forward as there is an MVP awards for a goalie, the Vezina. The award should be to a goalie each year, but will be awarded to a forward every year. Unless theres an awesome offensive defense man, a forward will always have the Hart in the new nhl. annabelle
Solid nominees, but really expected. I'm thinking it's between Malkin and AO, sure Iginla was good but seriously, he's the token "guy from a Canadian team"....sure he had 50 but I would go with Malkin slightly
oconnellrules
It was Ovechkin all year. He rallied that team and led them into the playoffs. Malkin had a great year after a relatively slow start. He surged and led the Penguins to the top virtually all year while Crosby was on the shelf. Iginla had another monster year, but not big enough. He's definitely one of the best captains/leaders in the league though AO
