msweet 140
Zubrus and Holik listed as #16 Maybe they will fight it out for the number http://devils.nhl.com/team/app?service=pag...amp;type=roster
nmigliore 11
No surprise here, he was #12 in MIN so.. didn't expect him to steal Gio's #14 or anything like that.. and I think Holik derserves the 16 over Zubrus. Edited July 16, 2008 by nmigliore
SatansDevils 6
Rolston #12 Holik #16 Zubrus make #
MantaRay 72
Holiks rings say "16". Zubrus can have Ashams #
thelastonealive 101
Holiks rings say "16". Zubrus can have Ashams #22 Nuts to that, if Holik wants the 16, he can pay Zubrus off with part of that $2.5 million contract he just got.
Prucenterrules 2
Holik has been here longer and deserves the number 16.

thelastonealive 101
Holik has been here longer and deserves the number 16. Disagree, Holik has been here a week. Zubrus has been here a year and a week. Holik lost his rights to the number when he signed with the Rangers in '02. Don't get me wrong, I'm pretty happy he's back, but he shouldn't get the number based on the fact that he wore it before. If Zubrus opts to give it up, then sure. But if Zubrus wants the number, it's his right to keep it, I think.
MB3 5,279
Disagree, Holik has been here a week. EXACTLY. Everyone sort of forgets the years that we despised this guy right? Now it's his birthright to come back and take his number from someone?
DevilNurn 5
I could have told you Rolston would be #12, they had a Devils jersey with 12 and his name on it a few weeks ago at the NHL store. Wonder how Holik and Zubrus are going to work it out...and if we call up Vrana or Bergfors, what they'd be. Ah well, it's the least of our problems.

RunninWithTheDevil 1,500
fvck holik. He can earn his number back if he wants. Lick my boots.
MantaRay 72
Holik will get #16 no question, he earned it. He was an vital component in two cup wins and another Cup appearance. Zubrus has done nothing here or anywhere else in his career.
ice dog 0
holik dose'nt deserve the number back! i'm happy to see him back, but he can have whatever number is available. dude left to go play for the rangers!

If Zubs passes it on to Holik though, does he get input as to what number he wants? Or will he be assigned a #?

halfsharkalligatorhalfman 25
Zubrus owns the 16. If he wants to sell it to Holik whatever, but there's no way management should make him give it up to a guy who left town years ago for more money. I second the earlier comment by thelastonealive. sammyk 71
Why are they using an Atlanta picture for Holik? Did they delete all his pics when he left?
Risky 10
Holik can pay Zubrus a portion of the contract he took with that other team when he sold us out and left behind his rights to #16.
Rock 88
Does anyone remember when Messier was supposed to come to the Devils at a trade deadline? They asked Madden about giving up number 11. Madden's response was along the lines: "Tell Mark to bring his checkbook."

langsgirl 0
Guess Ill have to settle with wearing Rolston #14 still lol. I would be super pi$$ed off if i had purchased a Zubrus jersey last season and then suddenly frankenstine rolls up and steals his number. Maybe Holik can have number 61, althought there is about as much likelyhood of that happening as there is of Zub's and Holik fighting in a ring for the rights to the number 16 before the Home opener this season
