Devs4LIFE
I don't know what Defenseman the Kings have that could possibly help us. Maybe Johnson.

Confusious
With the Sundin rumours intensifying that a decision could come as early as tomorrow the word on the inside among MANY of the people talking, texting or emailing one another in the NHL front offices and players is that Gomez to Vancouver works for many reasons and may in fact even be a better solution than Sundin out west. Stopped reading here.
Prucenterrules
There is no way the Devils will tade Gionta right now. If anything he will be traded at the trade deadline if he is playing like crap. Personally I expect a comeback year for Gionta. Also I just don't see gomez being traded and no way in hell for Gaborik.
RSC
So do you think that people inside the NHL play a game with him, making ludicrous lies and seeing what he'll post, or does he just make all this up?
adavid
So do you think that people inside the NHL play a game with him, making ludicrous lies and seeing what he'll post, or does he just make all this up? Yea, its probably Lou calling him up everyday using a different voice.

Devil Dog
Funny, no matter who he plays for Gomez is the subject of trade rumors. Kinda makes you wonder why?

Unless its a package to get someone like Bouwmeester But it wont happen Edited August 25, 2008 by nmigliore
Triumph
it could make sense to deal gionta if lou is over a self-imposed salary cap, other than that, not really. alls i know is this is his last season in a devils uniform ... well okay until he signs with new jersey at the age of 36. I think thats a pretty valid point; while he doesn't have Gomez with him, im sure he will see some good time with Rolston/Elias (although the ideal top line to me would be Rolston-Elias-Parise, but Brent Sutter is our coach and you know we will see Gio get some time with Rolston).. Maybe if Rolston switches to center it will help Gio.. who knows.. we'll see.. But if Gio puts in another subpar to par year, im sure they wont think of resigning him.. yankeesjetsfan
Any thoughts about the Schnider rumor? I wouldn't mind having him.
nmigliore
Any thoughts about the Schnider rumor? I wouldn't mind having him. What can we deal for him? His cap hit is only 1 year but its alot and will just add ANOTHER defenseman to the mix and also make it tough to upgrade at the deadline.. And im not in favor of Gio-for-Schneider It would help us if he can put up good offensive numbers like last year.. but then again, hes a year older, and might just bust. yankeesjetsfan
I just like Schnider cause he's such a goon. If we had him last year, no way Avery parks himself in front of Brodeur. Avery wouldhave been knocked on his butt.

LucifersDog
Gionta did what for the Devils? Let him go.
Prucenterrules
Gionta did what for the Devils? Let him go. Gionta set the team record for goals in 05-06, then missed half the season in 06-07, and last year a lot of our players had bad years. Give Gionta one last chance. You could always trade him later in the season.
