section227
Nieds is the one that stands out in my mind as having worn #48 during the 91-92 preseason. I'll have to look at some of the TC rosters i have see how far back the goon trend goes. Interesting! Man that would be a great project. Adding all the preseason numbers to the "devils by number" list the team publishes. unknown poster I'm game to help out. And thanks Matt for the shot at the Elias! Very cool! I was willing to go higher but my loooowwww speed connection didn't reload the page fast enough. Should have just come over the top at the beginning. Gotta' get rid of low speed/dial up... I only know of one person who uses Dial up still. He is on this page! I'll let him or her tell... MeiGray summer sale should provide a discount on that Clarkson, Cupcake (I feel creepy calling you that so that will be the last time I call you that). So Jamie, save your cash and you should be able to have that Clarkson at a lower price if you want it.

I'll have to check into that if I don't go crazy buying sticks at the Draft Party. Although I previously stated I just want a Clarkson and Parise. I'm not holding my breath for a Parise though. Maybe just the Clarkson. Or perhaps a Zajac. I should start my list for that.

3CUPSN9
Niedermayer with the "C" is on ebay now. Same seller as the Elias and Madden. Bidding starts at $1250 or something like that. Edited December 26, 2014 by 3CUPSN9
Chorske17
Niedermayer with the "C" is on ebay now. Same seller as the Elias and Madden. Bidding starts at $1250 or something like that. Seems a little to high if you ask me. I always liked his style, but I find few who want him in their collection. Nothing against him or why he left, but I never desired to have him in my collection. Seidl collects first Captains of the Devils and I personally think that is quite cool. Sadly I would have a next to impossible mission if I ever wanted to collect them all. Their are only 5 Kirk Muller Devils sweaters in the MeiGray system (obviously there are probably more, but where are they) and mine has the "C" removed. Seidl owns two others, and I have a clue where one of the other two are, but it would be impossible for me to do what he has done. I could do Devils with "A's", but that could be ENDLESS... I also thought of favourite line combos I liked and thought about collecting that avenue. Here are few I toyed with, but never did much with: Elias Arnott Sykora (who hasn't thought of this) Parise Zajac Langenbrunner (need one if I wanted to do this) Chorske Carpenter Richer (Possible, but I'd need to find a Carpenter...they exist and I've seen several) Pellerin Holik Guerin (I've never seen a Pellerin for sale) Maclean Broten Richer (probably too expensive to own and I've never seen a Maclean for sale) Broten, A Muller Verbeek (again too expensive and has ANYONE ever seen an Aaron Broten period?) Andreychuk Gilmour Guerin (WAY too expensive for me) Shanahan Stastny Maclean (the ultimate debt I could get myself into in terms of forwards) I hate having to make a decision on what to collect. I type this and I start feeling as though I should've gone this direction, but I think I'm good with who I have. A combination of the Devils and Hawks (at least they are both the same colours) with two others thrown in for good measure. Sorry so off topic... Just curious as to what everyone's focus is... Is it a theme, player(s), lines, favourite numbers, or anything with good wear or that just catches your eye? section227
I know this has been discussed, but what was the deal with the opening night patched sweaters from last year? Anyone hear the Miegray Shea commercial on the FAN this morning? Seems like that must have cost a bundle.
Chorske17
I know this has been discussed, but what was the deal with the opening night patched sweaters from last year? Hmm... I don't know what the "deal" with them was? All I know is that they went up for auction and they were bid on like it was the last remaining water left on earth. It was a joke. A blank back GI #21 went for close to $500.00. Pandolfo was up there (right Ken? ) and the Brodeur was extremely high priced. I will never be involved in another auction based upon this one because: A)I cannot compete, B)it was worn for one lousy period, C)Someone appeared to buy several sweaters which is there choice, but the person bought (10+ if I recall, anyone else confirm?) My advise is if someone is selling theirs really really go after a LOW price. Shake them down and really make them pay. I remember being no where close at $500.00 on a GI Langenbrunner. I think only one or two showed any minimal type of wear.

Chorske17
Matt, that's sort of unfair advice to give. I shouldn't have to sell my Pandolfo Opening night for $400 or my Sabres Winter Classic and my Retirement Night jerseys, etc. for $300 simply because i ponied up the $ for them and someone that didn't can buy them at basement price. I know i'll never get 100% back on any of them (with the possible exception of the Sabres), but it's not like any of them are going anywhere, anyhow. I've only seen a handful of specialty night Devils jerseys for sale dating back to Katrina. I'll bet not more then a dozen total and out of that, i think one or two were GI's. (Hale and the NNOB #21 was two i remember) Ken, Sorry my intention was for those who bought multiple or choose to "invest" in several. I didn't mean you, Andrew, Jeremy or anyone else who is just a collector who bought. Sorry again, I didn't mean you... But those who per say bought a winter classic only to "flip it" in less than a month should be hammered about it. That was my intention.
section227
Thank Matt and Ken. It was the auction aspect that I couldn't recall. Pricing on true "one game" jerseys, particularly when that one game is the first in the new buldling, is a bit hard to figure. Ken you price doesn't seem high at all. Expense? Of course. But that is a real bit of NJD history that can't be replicated. Sort of goes back to Matt's idea for a price guide. As far as modern era jerseys, I would think these would be near the top. 3CUPSN9
I had both a Katrina jersey (Hale) and an opening night jersey (Greene) and sold them both. I kind of wish I had not sold the Greene but I'm not to upset that its gone (if that makes sense). Luckily I was able to get the same amount back as I had paid for the Hale (I think it was $400). I sold the Greene for $600 I think and paid around $650 so that wasnt too bad. Going back to Matts earlier question what "what do you collect", I would say that I am starting to think about collecting jerseys with the "A" on them. I've got Madden, Langenbrunner, White, and Holik. Hopefullly Paul Martin will get a "A" at some point! Other than the "A's" I pretty much go by which Devils I've liked or like simple enough I guess! JWomp
The Rats sold a Parise jersey on eBay a few years ago that went for under $500! And I know that one is still around, not cut up into pieces.

And I know that one is still around, not cut up into pieces. This is garbage, but at least it is a newer player. The old stuff make me cringe. I think Dixon had a Shanahan Devils cut up which really, really upsets me... I do wonder where it came from. I haven't seen the Keith Parker Shanahan in sometime... Hmm!!!!!! Why are there so few Ranger sweaters cut up? (I'm sure there is a good punchline like "because you have to be win more than one cup in 40 years to have a sweater cut up" that could be used and I'm sure you guys will no doubtedly put one in here). Seriously, maybe I don't know my arse from elbow, but I've seen very few Rangers "swatch" cards... Am I wrong?
