The Facepainter
AWESOME! I've been watching that channel lately,(not hd) do they ever play live games? I see a lot of cool hockey/historic moment type shows, but I haven't seen live games being broad casted.
nmigliore
NHLN-HD would be too good to be true

Yes they do play live games, all the time...and more so this season (although no Devils games). There was a thread discussing the latest schedule: http://njdevs.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=39440 EDIT: I have a question for Center Ice subscribers......on your CI, how long are the time slots for games this season? CRASHER
I wish they would have told someone... ANYONE that they were showing HNIC ... my sole joy on Saturday Night was waiting to see Don Cherry on CI... and was none to be found!!! njdevil26
I am noticing some new things about NHL center ice this year on comcast... home and away broadcasts and HD games.

jkrdevil
Comcast won't carry it anyway Comcast is contractually obligated to carry the channel as part of the Versus deal.
JohnnyP.
Comcast won't carry it anyway Question anybody got the answer: I was at a bar in Rutherford, Saturday night hoping to see Devils/Pens. The bar has comcast, we could not find the game on any channel. One of my friends went in and out of a few other bars to see if they had the game, all had comcast and didn't know or couldn't find the channel it was on. We wound up going to a friend's house with IO and caught the last period. I was dumbfounded being in NJ and not seeing a Devils game at a bar, no one working there had a clue and a few locals knew nothing of comcast channel for it that night, Isles game and Rangers games we found, but not the Devs. What channel on Comcast was it on??? Or wasn't it on ??? In case this scenario happens again......

Link I remember when I used to live in East Rutherford and the Devils games were on the Metro Channel, which was owned by Cablevision. We had to pay extra to get it. Even though we were literally less than a mile away from the CAA, in the same town!
JohnnyP.
Thanks 95crash Going by that link I would say it should have been on either 16 or 60.. And I gotta say it wasn't, we even got the remote from the bar and wet through literally every single channel one by one. Extremely disappointed at that time. like I said we got back for the ending but certainly changed the course of our planned night
CRASHER
this is why I bribe the bartenders with computer repairs and absurd tips... they just hand me the remote and leave me alone
USC09
This article is true and the additions are to be rolled out Tomorrow or Thursday in all states. Hopefully this means the NHL Network will be upgraded on iO.
skeeter
Yes, but the important question is, will this channel be free? As of now you have to pay $5.99 a month for the useless sports package to get NHLN. If it's free in HD that will be glorious because I was planning on ordering the channel the minute the free preview ends.
ice dog
NHLN-HD would be too good to be true The NHL Network is in HD on Dish Network. i dumped cable this summer and last week had Dish Network installed just in time for Devils 1st game...it's AWESOME. for about $50 a month i got HD out the a$$, throw in the center ice package and a giant screen HD TV and it's simply insane. I had 65 MPH Santa Ana winds blowing yesterday...not a problem. After years of suffering with lousy cable, all i got to say is I highly recommend a dish system! USC09
It looks like you need to order the sports pak or the single channel to get the HD feed as well on iO.
NJTank99
Comcast has a good relationship with the NHL and its part of the digital sports pack for $1.99 a month and its Well worth it. You get NHL Network, NFL Network, NBA Network, and a few others and hopefully come January MLB Network.
