If we could actually beat the Rangers their fans would be a little more hesitant to show up.

rpaq88
If we could actually beat the Rangers their fans would be a little more hesitant to show up. That is true - we've beaten them twice in two years. They weren't as cocky when the Devils won 22 or 23 in a row. The fact that the Rock is easier to get to then CAA doesn't help. Biggie B
Did you guys actually think for a second that we would have won that game? For the love of God, stop spamming the forum with these threads.

welcometotherock
The fact that the Rock is easier to get to then CAA doesn't help. Ive though about this, and although it adds some Rags fans for 3 games a year, it adds so many extra Devils fans that can come out to games. sameblood
I love Elias. He makes incredible passes and handles the puck in a way that actually ends up being effective. Edited November 13, 2008 by sameblood
losdiablos103
the thought of trading elias, is STUPID. this thread, is STUPID.
nmigliore
Yes this is stupid.. I dont disagree with the hating towards Sutter/Langs/our goaltending tandem, but this is just stupid
Prucenterrules
Remember how this team played in the 1st half of 2005-2006 without Elias. They were 19 points out of first place. When he returned this team came back and won 9 in a row and won the Atlantic division. Do you want to play like the 1st half of that year again? IceThief
Might as well get by frustrated two cents in while everyone else is also pissed off.Seriously though Elias sucks now... There's a NMC in place. You can't trade him unless he agrees to be traded.

nyrsuck26
You guys gotta settle down. Its like if someone isnt on pace to score 40 goals, they're a bum. We're 15 games into the year. Elias wil be fine, Langenbrunner will be fine, Gionta will be fine. Have some kind of patience, please.
Prucenterrules
Patience? We're devils fans. We're patient if we're undefeated through 32 games and have a 7-0 lead on the rangers at the end of the first period. Don't expect much else. people would probably still complain. njdevil26
He's a poopy Mc. Pooperton!!!!! Also, we're expecting a big performance out of a third line player. He belong with Pando and Madden. Could be our geezer line.

Before this rare NYR streak the Devils owned the NYR going (20-8-9) over the last 7-years where no NYR fans were around the CAA. How soon they forget how they were dominated for 7-years and actually the last 17-years until this streak which started @ the Prudential Center last season. Revan
Guys, you gotta get real. Many people already picked the Devils to miss the playoffs WITH THEIR FULL SQUAD. And although I strongly disagree with them, what can you tell about the chances of the current team? And did you really believe in beating the Rangers yesterday, while we couldn't do sh!t against them even with Marty in goal and all the guys in place? This is a team sport, trading Elias / Langenbrunner / firing Sutter won't magically fix our problems when we have a hospital of a team. Trust me. The fact that so many of us are spoiled (what Holik said...) is actually pretty... impressive because it tells you just how great this team used to be and what kind of success the Devils had. But right now this is beyond anybody's control - no coach will help with a weakened roster like that, we just have to be patient and wait for the guys to return. Lower your expectations. SatansDevils
obviously you weren't around the games when the Devils could NOT beat the Rangers in the early 90s! Sure was there. It wasn't bad in the 90's (only 4-losing season series). It was the 80's where obviously you weren't around. The early 90's was bad losing 3 out of the first four seasons, but the whole decade turned out just fine. Devils vs. NYR 90-91 - (2-3-2) 91-92 - (3-4-0) 92-93 - (4-2-1) 93-94 - (0-6-0) 94-95 - (3-1-0) shortened season - won SC. 95-96 - (2-1-2) 96-97 - (1-2-2) 97-98 - (4-0-2) This started the run the Devils had over the NYR for over 10-years. 98-99 - (5-0-0) 99-00 - (3-0-2) overall in the 90's - (27-19-11) not a bad 90's record at all. It was the 80's that was bad. Edited November 14, 2008 by SatansDevils
