Sickman
Look how BAD Sundin looks out there... take your time Shanny Yeah this is exactly what I'm thinking. Still can't believe Lou is going down this path.
SatansDevils
Couldn't have a better 1st period than the Devils just had. They outshot Vancouver 12-4 and have the 3-0 lead. devils need to keep the pressure on because Vancouver will come out in the 2nd and come after the Devils. Cannot sit back on this one. Keep it going Devils.
njdevils783
Look how BAD Sundin looks out there... take your time Shanny I like the possibility that him lurking in the distance may be motivating some of the guys to fight to keep their jobs. thelastonealive
wow never noticed it...Wonder if the Shanahan has anything to do with it? Maybe, but they practiced those lines that morning, before the Shanahan news broke.
CRASHER
I like the possibility that him lurking in the distance may be motivating some of the guys to fight to keep their jobs. and I like the fact we don't need to desperately rush him back and he can take his damn time and have a training camp! Toaster13
NHL.com gave secondary assists to Madden and Elias. http://www.nhl.com/ice/boxscore.htm?id=2008020640 Edited January 14, 2009 by Toaster13

SatansDevils
Shanahan has been working out this entire season on and off the ice unlike Sundin. Shanahan I am guessing is in better shape right now and it has been a long training camp for him. Maybe this is why he is so soon to return to play possibly this weekend. Shanahan has had a long training camp and I believe is just about ready to play. We shall see come this weekend or early next week.
NJDevs4978
i think that has to be the fastest goalie change i have ever seen I thought Vigneault basically embrassed LaBarbara. What's he been there, like two weeks? And he's had a few decent starts. I guess the coach didn't care about hurt feelings since neither he or Sanford will play anyway now that the savior's coming back. Nice to see the team give some effort in the first period...hopefully someone reminds them that it's a 60-minute game. But it would be nice to have a laugher for a change, in the midst of a tough schedule.
A49ER08
Hey, how is everyone doing! GO DEVILS just had a quick question... I'm not sure if anyone was watching STEVE CANGALOSI's recap of the 1st intermission right before the 2nd PERIOD STARTEd but.. when he was showing the HIGHLIGHTS.. there was this SICK rock/metal THEME playing in the background if anyone has heard it before or has any idea of what it is.. I would love to know sorry if it's bit off topic OH and for you DVR users.. CHECK IT OUT it's worth a rewind !!

Because Sundin sat at home eating bon-bons all off-season and signed in Vancouver by accident there's skating and working out and playing for REAL in the NHL, different animals.... different speed.... no need to rush the guy... let him practice a few weeks (oops... am I allowed to say that word ) with the team in practice and NOT count against the cap and see where it's at! mikeford
Nice rebound Sieve. This is why we can't have shutouts without Marty.

Sickman
Nice rebound Sieve. This is why we can't have shutouts without Marty. The sieve also saved the Devils' asses several times in that second period.
SatansDevils
Clemmer playing just fine and kept the Devils up by 2-goals. devils need to come out in the 3rd like they did in the 1st to put this Vancouver team away. Cannot sit back in the 3rd. Get the next goal Devils. Stay out of the penalty box.

njdevil26
Clemmer has to either eat that up, or NOT try to get up when the puck is sitting a foot in front of him and has Demitra charging.
Sickman
Well maybe he is a sieve lol. Yeah that was an awful rebound.
