Good Afternoon and thank you for joining me here today on the NJDevs Fan message board.

I would like to discuss a few topics here today that are currently going on in the world of the New Jersey Devils organization. I would first like to extend my gratitude and thanks to our fans for supporting us through the 2008 - 2009 season. Unfortunately it was a disappointing end to a great season filled with many records being broken, Martin Brodeur's all time win record, as well as Patrik Elias' all time point leader for the organization to name a few. I would like to also thank our fans for joining us for our Draft Party on Friday night, and our equipment sale was a huge success.

In regards to the draft, we have drafted a great number of young and talented individuals who we have nothing but the highest of expectations from and understand everything it is to be a New Jersey Devil and part of this organization. It's something that we believe in our organization. We want every player who ends up with us to be part of us, no matter who it is.

During the offseason, as a General Manager, you are sometimes faced with difficult decisions and have to make the right decision for the organization at that given time. I will be working vigorously with our free agents, and their agents to come to an agreement that will fit both parties going into the future and know we have some great talent that I will hopefully be resigning in the coming days. We are very close to coming to terms of an extension with Johnny Oduya, but as per club policy, details of the transaction will be disclosed.

I will very briefly state on the Brent Sutter situation. I was extremely disappointed in Brent's decision but can understand his views on his family and the situation. It was a bit unsettling when I was informed he signed with another team, but I do not wish to further comment on the situation. I am feverishly searching for a qualified candidate and hope to have an announcement on or around July 1st.

Thank you again for your continued support and I hope to speak with you again soon.

What were your thoughts on "The Year One"? Personally I felt that the jokes were forced and lack lust. I for one am tired of Giving Jack Black countless opportunities and yet he continues to come up dry. What do you think Mr. Lamoriello?

Thank you for your question, Devs4LIFE. I have yet to see the said movie, so I cannot give you my take on the film, nor am I familiar with who this "Jack Black" fellow is. I do however encourage any organization related questions from other board members and will do my best to answer them in a timely fashion. Thank you.

What is your take on the backup goaltender situation this year? Will you try to sign Kevin Weekes to an extension, or will you go with Scott Clemmensen, or somebody completely new? Also, what do you think went wrong this year with the team at the end?

Thank you for your questions BlizzardCyclone. As I said in my initial post, I will be sitting down with all of our free agents and try to come to an agreement with each one that makes sense to be a key factor in the building of our franchise and a potential Stanley Cup calibur team. In regards to my take on what went wrong, I think we had been as focused as you can get from any group for a substantial period of time. The schedule is demanding, but you can't ever use these things as an excuse. We got a little bit away from the basics and when you play a little tired, whether it's mentally or physically, you can't get away from what makes your game go. When you do that, you make mistakes.

Jack Black is basically the new Robin Williams. Hollywood finds generic comedies, puts Jack Black in them, let's him do his crazy, rockin' out thing, and assumes that it will be hilarious. I think he does his best stuff when he's reigned in by a good, tight script (High Fidelity, Be Kind Rewind, etc.) That said, The Year One was kind of a disappointent considering the people involved (Harold Ramis, Juddd Apatow,, David Cross, Michael Cera, etc.)

Oh yeah...Go Devils!!!

The only movie that he played a significant role in that I enjoyed, was Saving Silverman...

Lou,

Vanilla.

Pets Mart, Its a Mart for Pets.

Boxers or Briefs Lou? The world is dieing to know!

Neither. Im as old school as it gets.

How was lunch at Panera sir, or are you saving that joy for July 1st??

July 1st or any Sunday afternoon is a fine time for a Low Fat Vegetarian Black Bean soup and a Frontega Chicken Panini. Stop by the Edgewater location and tell them Lou sent ya. Im working with Jeff to remove one of the Sushi Stands at The Rock and getting a Panera Bread Express installed. (It will be the first of its kind.) Stay tuned.

What would you rather have read: commando or tighty-whities?
