Rock
http://www.nj.com/devils/index.ssf/2009/09/nj_devils_training_camp_previe.html SOME DIFFICULT DECISIONS Two of Lemaire's most interesting decisions will involve his second-line center and depth at right wing after captain Jamie Langenbrunner. Lemaire says Brian Rolston is a winger, probably the second-line left wing. That means Patrik Elias may be asked to center that line since there is likely to be no messing with the No. 1 unit of Zach Parise, Travis Zajac and Langenbrunner. Five right wingers could be battling it out for three jobs. David Clarkson and Shanahan are locks, but GM Lou Lamoriello said Ilkka Pikkarainen will be either the third for fourth-line right winger. Where does that leave Bergfors and Matt Halischuk? POSSIBLE EARLY LINES Zach Parise--Travis Zajac--Jamie Langenbrunner Brian Rolston--Patrik Elias--David Clarkson Jay Pandolfo--Rod Pelley--Dainius Zubrus Pierre-Luc Letourneau-Leblond--Patrice Cormier--Brendan Shanahan Also: Vladimir Zharkov--Ben Walter--Ilkka Pikkarainen POSSIBLE EARLY DEFENSE PAIRS Paul Martin--Johnny Oduya Bryce Salvador--Andy Greene Colin White--Mike Mottau Also: Tyler Eckford--Matthew Corrente Edited September 6, 2009 by Rock
CerebralGenesis
So he means no bergfors or halischuk? lol I agree with no halischuk but I think thats a long shot albeit the most unique I've seen lately.

Devils731
Why would you have Zubrus on Pelley's wing? I think it would make more sense to have Pelley on Zubrus' wing. Anyway, wasn't there a quote earlier in the year that Lemaire thinks wingers should be able to play both wings? Maybe that's how the issue will be solved, by having guys play a different wing than normal. Also, Chere seemed to have created a one dimensional defensive line with his third pairing again, I think that must be out of habit. I have a feeling the Devils aren't going to do that, or if they do, it'll be the 4th line getting the least minutes. Par9
I just lost some trust in Chere's previews for the next 10 years.
