Run-offs will be held if needed to get decisive answers.

The best drafted team might not spell championship... nor will the worst drafted team mean they will finish last... That's why there are separate questions for draft and finish.

What are the trades based on? I made one trade, yet my players are in two or three times?

The trades are based solely by pick number... so it means your pick was traded 2-3x before it wound up in your hands. Its part of the reason why I removed the teams... so its just squarely evaluate the pick value for pick value.

Aren't questions 3-5 and 4-6 pretty repetitive? If you think someone had the best draft, odds are you'd pick them to win and vice-versa.

btw I didn't vote for me to win...I think I'll be in the playoffs at least but we'll see. I could have voted for my Brees trade cause that turned out pretty well with the players selected but I think Palmer-Roethlisberger with the two kickers was probably the best deal.

Alright karma is a bitch and maybe I lose against him but I think Masked could run into some problems. But his team might turn out great too. I am not saying he has the worst team at all.

LT was your first pick and he could return to being a star, but if he doesn't you could be in trouble. Kevin Smith is a good back but the team around him does suck. Not a great O-Line and a sh!tty defense. If the Lions are down 14-0 again in first quarter, Kevin Smith might not become a factor. And who knows if they can establish a run game to begin with.

His first two receivers drafted aren't even #1 guys. It seems Brandon Marshall and the Broncos have worked things out and talks of a new contract are there. Anthony Gonzalez has a lot of buzz next to his name, but he had that last year too.

Again, he could have a top team and I'm not trying to hate, but I could see some problems.

Yes/No. Like I said in the first post... having the best draft doesn't mean you'll win.

Having both polls allow you to go with the stat sheet and your gut feeling for surprises, injuries etc.

(ie:

I picked Value for best draft - Overall, a very balanced, solid team

I picked Hasan for winning - I think Brown/Ochocinco will be big this year - but there's some risk

)

I have to look at the teams a little closer before I vote but I have to say I'm pleased with where I ended up. After the whole keeper idea I made a real effort to research these guys and get value.

A lot of my past draft strategy was boom or bust and it ended up bust more often than not...

right off the top though I'd put Ayl at the top to win it all...

Looking at the teams...I think it is clear there is no clear cut winner, which shows how smart most of us are. Usually in a lot of drafts you see one guy who does his homework kill a bunch of guys who weren't prepared, but this was a really good draft. I don't think anyone fell too far from where they were supposed to be drafted, and there weren't many wtf picks. If you had a sleeper in mind, you better have took him when you had the chance because chances were he wasn't going to come to you on the way back.

I think the time factor is huge for this. Live drafts with 90 sec timers etc push people into corners... especially with runs on positions, etc.

I completely agree. I took risks, but I liked the potential payoffs. Huge.

I second the MF issue... I think if Anthony Gonzo doesn't have a breakout year, his WR corps is in serious doo-doo.

I believe Moss is good for 1200yds/12TDs and you are right about Gonzalez, I am banking on him, but Royal is a good insurance policy and Britt might be the sleeper of the draft.

You do realize you drafted Santana, not Randy  The same Santana that's averaged about 900 yards and 5 TD's the last three years and still has middling Jason Campbell at QB and even worse WR's around him?

I like Royal (mainly cause I don't think we've heard the last whining from Baby Brandon) and think you took a little too much crap for Gonzalez but Santana ain't giving you those numbers.

  • 2 months later...

So far my Udx pick to win it looks a lot better than everyone else's championship predictions  Granted I'm second in points so I wasn't a hideous choice but I'm always hexed in these fantasy leagues :P I can't believe nobody picked VALUE though, I thought he had a pretty decent draft - maybe lack of depth at WR and one too many Bears I thought could be issues but he's actually got a better team than the one that won last year probably.

Value has an insane team but to be fair Ray Rice was a huge pick that no one could've expected to pan out as much as it did...Vincent Jackson has helped him a lot too and if you go look back at the games he's won, a random player has always had a big game. Olsen busted out 25 pts once...the Denver D got him 20 one week...says a lot about how he manages and plays matchup...something I have too many problems with in my other leagues...hate leaving a guy with 20+ pts on the bench but its happened on more than one occasion this year....

"Cellar dweller", I am not. Third place in the league, I am. Suck it, ye of little faith.

925 pts puts you in 5th place... still, nowhere near 12th... but people were evaluating teams based off rosters, not h2h.

Then again, not many people cared to vote... so only 1 voted you there... so Id just leave it be :P

a) I have consistently been in the top 3 in scoring each week, I just never had a week where I exploded for 245 points like some of the people above me.

b) I was joking, what on earth would you like me to "leave be"?

Fact or fiction?

Week 1 - 5th in points

Week 2 - 4th in points (with an L)

Week 3 - 4th in points (with an L)

Week 4 - 5th in points

Week 5 - 9th in points (with a W)

Week 6 - 7th in points (with a W)

Week 7 - 4th in points

Week 8 - 2nd in points

Week 9 - 11th in points

Week 10 - 6th in points

To your credit you do get around 95 points a week it seems, consistent if not spectacular. And being in the top half of scoring seven of ten weeks prorates out to a 7-3 record, which is exactly what you have.

Just for the heck of it I looked up my team too:

W1 - 2nd in points

W2 - 2nd in points

W3 - 10th in points

W4 - 3rd in points

W5 - 4th in points

W6 - 4th in points (with an L)

W7 - 1st in points

W8 - 12th in points

W9 - 2nd in points (with an L)

W10 - 12th in points (thanks to the black plague that wiped out all three of my RB's)

So I've also been in the top six - actually the top four seven weeks of ten. Yet I'm 5-5 because I lost a week when I was 2nd in points and another week I was 4th in points - against CRASHER's last place team with its best performance of the year so pardon me if I'm a little envious that you've only had neutral luck :P
