i'm going to be taking my 5yr old for some ice skating lessons soon, but i don't skate myself so i need help.

i just want to know what is a good starter skate, soemthing not too expensive since i know he'll grow out of them fast enough, but i'm not looking for something dirt cheap either. any help would be appreciated.

My 8 year old started at 5, and we went through a ton of skates. His foot seemed to grow a size every six months. He started out on some cheap plastic CCM skates, which were probably fine if you are unsure if he would even like it, but he challenged their limits quite quickly, and we needed to move to a more substantial boot almost immediately. Reebok has come out with an adjustable youth hockey skate, that I would have been all over if they had it when my son was learning. I am not sure about this particular boot, but my son had Reeboks for a while and they were a very good boot for a youth player. Anyway see the link below. If I had to start over this is probably the direction I would go in.
