Why not waive him to save on the cap? Unless they're thinking about him being an option to return later on in the year? Here is a meaningless but interesting tidbit on Brodeur vs. Rangers from TG... Brodeur hasn't recorded a regulation win over the Rangers since Feb. 20, 2007. That span covers 11 regular season games (2-6-3 with two shootout wins) and five playoff games (one overtime win).
