Colin226
Jacque did say the first 5 would be a building time. The fact that he was so right about it makes me excited to see what comes next
Sickman
if you told me they would get 6 points in the 3rd period in Tampa, I would have... said alot of things. they played a great game after the awful fvckups on the second goal. maybe it's coming along. some things I would like to see die (4th line, Parise not in front of the net, I mean he only could have scored 86 goals on that PP), but it's getting alot better and that is not an easy team to beat like sad-sack Florida Keep the faith man. There are just way to many good players on this team and Lemaire is to smart of a coach to not have this team succeed. You might see some odd things here and there early this season but I think Lemaire wants to experiment a little so he can find out what exactly he has in these guys and go from there. Triumph
solid game by the devils. only thing bad was the penalties, which i don't think will continue. but washington almost always gives a team a chance to win with theodore in net and the 6 guys they put on D every night, plus the lack of discipline they constantly exhibit. tough game for salvador, who was just brutally bad, making awful decisions just about all game long. bergfors did not have a good game either, even though he assisted on the goal. a lot of poor decisions in every zone for him tonight. pandolfo is as serviceable as he ever will be right now - he's playing better than last year, that's for sure. love the defense activating on the clarkson goal. all in all i think the devils caught some bad luck NOT to win this game, and i expect that to turn a bit. Devils731
In my opinion the second goal was questionable. That was a pretty good goal. Knuble made a nice play in delaying so Marty would slide farther over and sent sent it softly far side to give Marty more time to get over. On the flip side Rolston scores almost the same exact goal except Theodore delays so he doesn't get beat far side like Marty did and so Rolston beats him short side. The end of the day is the goalie is in a lot of trouble if a guy on the far side of the ice gets a pass when wide open, with speed, on a 3 on 2. Prucenterrules
What a great game. Pando and Clarkson have been very impressive this season. Marty was the man tonight, especially on that 5 on 3. What a game and what a win for the Devils. 2-0 this season on GDT's for me.
The Facepainter
Devils should have had that game before the shootout. Parise may have been a bit unlucky, but right now he just doesn't have the scoring touch, but i'm sure it will be back in a hurry. Anyway, I'm starting to feel good about this team. I freakin loved that second goal. Great work by bergfors, clarkie and zubrus. And besides that second goal Brodeur let in, he played solid. EuroDev
Loving the work ethic this year. Rolston and Clarkson look fantastic, Bergfors and Pandolfo are giving it their all as well. Alot of effort being put in all round. The top line is playing great, Zajac is the man on the faceoffs and after a rough first couple of games Marty has really got it together and come up big for us when we needed him. When we get Elias back we will be even better, the wins haven't been pretty so far but they are coming at least. I'll take them any way we can get them. Toaster13
The only thing I'm not liking right now is that the Devs are scoring 2-3 goals a game(not counting the one included in SO). I'd like to see them score more in a game and see Parise get hot soon.

It's only 5 games, the team is getting a lot of good chances, they haven't been putting them home, and they're still adapting to a much different system. SatansDevils
Brodeur is a GOD of the shootouts! Congratulations to Brodeur on winning his 30th shootout of his career (30-14). Nice road sweep for the Devils and getting on a roll. One of their best games so far this season. Parise should have won the game in OT. Nice comeback in this game by the Devils after being down early 2-0. This team has a lot of fight in them and do not quit. Three in a row and now need to bring this streak home for the next two games back to back.

I think that's what pissing me off is how many great chances their getting and now scoring. And at times they seem to try making fancy passes and what not and then giving up. I'm liking how many players have stepped up their game from last year. I mean Greene, Zubrus, Pando, Rolston and Zajac and playing very well. I'll be happy if they play every second the way they played the 3rd period and OT.
maxpower
In my opinion the second goal was questionable. it was also caused by rampant dumbassery by players on his team. should have never happened. did get a piece of it, but I'd have to see it again. was a very avoidable play and a good one for Washington, it probably got them a point. when some Bryce Salvador defenseman beats you clean on a wrist shot from the blue line, that's really questionable. this situation was avoidable and the goalie failed as the last line of defense, but there was alot more to that play than Marty. William
some thoughts 1. this game should be further proof that lemaire is not a dinosaur 2. marty is looking amazing just give the man some time. can not believe how so many people turned on him on this board. he is only the greatest goaltender of all time. 3. just wait until elias comes back. 4. lou looks like a genius thus far
Toaster13
stop watching ranger games, lol just because we score little doesnt make it a bad thing! ::takes ovie jersey out of freezer" I've only watched the Devs/Rags game and their game against Pittsburgh. I just saw they won 7-2, I wasn't referring to that.

Ovie did a great job on the counterattack, he made a good pass and Knuble knows how to finish. Sometimes Marty makes that save, but 2 good players made good plays and we got beat. I don't like them coming back up the ice that well, but we played aggressive offense and got burned. It's gonna happen sometimes. I didn't think he was shaky at all. The Caps are a powerhouse team on offense. He did good. Who are you and what have you done with LucifersDog?

The fact that he was so right about it makes me excited to see what comes next Well yeah, with all the new players and slightly tweaked system of course there were going to be growing pains. If anything it's encouraging that they're coming around so quickly without Elias. I thought it would take till at least he got back in the lineup to see the true Devils team. Hopefully they get off the schneid at home Friday, but a great way to head into the break.
maxpower
what are you talking about? green had 30 goals last year and knuble is a bonafide power forward. what are you talking about? I'm talking about the true definition of a horrible goal, a hypothetical situation where some non-offensive playing stiff beats a goalie from a mile out where everyone did their job other than the goalie. people get too melodramatic on here talking about awful or soft goals. alot of the "bad" goals Marty has given up are on really bad plays by other Devils. the second goal is one of those. the first was a great shot by a great offensive player. David Puddy
The end of the day is the goalie is in a lot of trouble if a guy on the far side of the ice gets a pass when wide open, with speed, on a 3 on 2. Thank you. How many times have I been saying that the best way to score is get the goalie moving laterally. In that situation, you don't have time to look back or tap the post to check positioning, so it's a lot easier to make a slight error in position, and when guys can pick the corners, a little error can easily turn into a goal.
